I'm still not sure I want to spend 200 bucks on a stopgap card when I know I'm getting a new computer middle of next year, but man, my 9600xt is showing its age these days

man, i'd upgrade that videocard.
8 months is a long time to wait to upgrade that card/system.
edit: also i'd put AGP in the title so people like me don't rain on your AGP parade

AFAIK they are virtually identical in benchmarks....and the 7600gt is smaller by quite a bit and not as power hungry
