If the vid card is indeed on sale all week, did you guys get the rebate at the register? Or, if not, could someone post a scan on the rebate so we know where to send our materials? This is all assuming it's valid this week, and not just Friday.

Wheee! I managed to get my confirmation that one is on hold for me. I'll pick it up on Friday and go through the whole process. If anyone's interested, I ordered mine for In-store pickup at the Fairlakes, VA store. Got my confirmation that it was on hold in about 20-30 minutes.

This is a rant, but also has some good info for 1 or 2 that might need this drive....

here is the deal--- i met this guy at Security Blvd (and when i say this the person who saw me there will know me right away) store today at 12:30PM ... we met and were looking for the same card...
To my surprise dude was very very cold and rude to me when i tried to talk to him where the other stores might be located..... I had no clue why (could have been about my complexion and appearance (mixed))... anyways, the dumbest thing about it is he goes off on a rant about how he saw the advertisment out and that it is supposed to be on sale on Friday and they should have at least 10 of them in store at the day of sale while talking to Sale associates... he was just running his mouth like he owned BB....he was worse than those people that killed the Ti200 deal by calling the places rather than going and finding about them last year...the associates that he was asking were very beffudled... they wanted to know how he knew this info of which items were going to be on sale esp. when they didn't have a clue about it (moa, standing to the side just looking, scanning just looking even when they ask me for help saying nothing, but eavesdropping aisle to aisle wherever they go)...

all i wanted to approach him so that i would exchange emails and while he scours and finds a store on the west, i would do the same in the east and south east area..... i guess that was his loss, for all the talk that he did with 7 people, he walked out with 0.... I get the last lough because i found another store that had them!

i might have 1 card for sale so somebody will have to pay at least $5 gas extra, and do rebates, pm me...
whoever you are, if you are looking at this, you're a moron!!!.... the worst part about it, i'm 23 and this most pbly around 46(well dressed bourgeois) and his intelligence level with the way he was talking looked like a freakin 5yr old... sometimes, us geeks just don't have a freakin common sense!

I went a picked mine up today - I am going to priceadjust friday morning, one question though, BB has that policy where they will beat any price in town by 10% withing 14 days, does this mean I can come in with my receipt and have them beat their own price by 10%? No big deal if not the 89 bucks is hot as hell any ways.

You will only get 100% price match when BB matches itself. I also asked if I used my 10% coupon to buy the card today if it would be re-applied after the price match. The answer was no. The price is actually going to be around $102 AR depending on taxes in your area.

this is a great deal and all.
but but do we really need 2 threads...
not to mention they are created by the same person.
most of us will probably walk away empty-handed...

Just curious, what are lines usually like at 10am? Last year it was absolute havoc at 6-7am (whenever the store opened)...took me 40-50 minutes to get inside, after which there were ropes herding people and huge boxes piled up blocking entire aisles (making me wonder if I could even retrieve a hidden ti200). If I could just buy one now and bring the receipt, I'd rather do that instead of waking up so early, but I'm wondering how long the line might be with just a price adjustment...

Hehe, all this to save $25? Is the 128mb version that much faster than the 64mb version? Oh well, the fun of the chase eh?

For those interested in OC'ing, the XFX GF4 Ti4200 I mentioned in a earlier post is running comfortably at 300/600. I had it running at 300/620 but I think (it was slight if at all) I saw some artifacts in the Evolva Rolling Demo. It made it fine through several 3DMark2001SE runs at 300/620. I didn't try it any higher, 300/600 sounds good enough to me. The thing that gets me about this card is that it appears to have 4ns memory, some other XFX cards I read reviews on had 3.6ns memory.

Good luck to you all, look forward to hearing about your Black Friday tales. My wife will be out in the thick of it, she said BB was an absolute zoo last year, she didn't bother trying to get in.

okay, so the ad says it guarantees 10 per store.
it looks like it's been picked up all over the place right now.
obviously they aren't going to have 10 on that day unless they have a whole bunch in the backroom.
how are they going to hold up the deal?

I picked one up earlier today at the best buy in Chicago on North Ave. They had tons, but while I stood there a sales person was taking them off the shelf! I asked him what he was doing, and he replied "cleaning up". I imagine they are making sure that each store has 10 to put out Friday morning. Anyway, he left 4 cards out, so go get'm! I'll see everyone in line return/rebuying (hopefully!) on Friday morning.

wow. all this for a last-generation directx8 card! wow!

I hope some of you with geforce3's don't buy this, cuz that would be a big waste of money.

I got my card this afternoon....and for those in the Northern VA area, the Potomac Yards BB had at least 5 more on the shelf. I also got the D-link 614+ wireless router and 650+ card. If any of you get this card and router combo, there is a D-link rebate for the router and card. They both want the original UPC from the box, but I'm pretty sure that BB will take a copy when there are multiple rebates.

I just picked one up. My local store had 5 on the shelf with 10 still in shipping cases on the floor behind the counter. Now for a question........Has anyone else opened theirs yet? The box says that it includes a "software bundle" but mine only had the card, driver disc, DVI adapter and install guide. It would be just my luck to get a card that had been bought and returned for some reason. The local BB is infamous for putting returned product back on the shelf with things missing from the box.

orangel, it's been discussed before. There are two threads because wiz started one of them in another forums (hardware or video or someplace), and the thread was moved over to Hot Deals - but he had already started a separate thread here. So, we ended up with two by accident.

Anyhow, I checked with my BB, there were none on the shelf. I asked a rep if they had any in the stockroom - he gave me a flat-out no. I asked another rep, and he gave me a suspicious look.

Him: "Are you going to buy it?"
Me: "If you have it, yes."
He returns in a moment from the stock room.
Me: "Great, thanks" - but he doesn't give me the card.
Him: "I have to take this up to the front register with you."
We both head up, he gives the card to one of the cashiers as I get in line, and he points to me and tell her "This is for him." I get to the register soon, pay for my card, wondering why all the shenanigans (probably because they were hiding them in the stock room so they have the minimum of 10 for Friday), and left. If they won't let me match the price on Friday, I'll just return it.

Got one in the Santa Maria, CA store.......there was still one left on the shelf, but it had a dented in box....if it matters.

I asked them if they would give the difference on price and stuff if it "happens" to go on sale friday and they said yes, just bring it to the returns desk and they would adjust the price/rebate stuff.

If they don't I just return it completely.

San Francisco Best Buy does not have any in stock, and they don't know when they are getting new ones, according to my phone conversation with them 10 minutes ago.

I called in to store #49, Bloomington, IL. The person I spoke to did not seem to have any at all in the database. I'm going to the store now to see for myself.

:EDIT:

Just got back from the store, sure enough, there is no indication of these cards existing at my Best Buy. No empty shelves with price tags, nothing. Is this really a nationwide ad, or only participating stores? And if so, are they only selectively participating?

On Friday, lets get a list together of the stores that do the return/rebuy. I am sure BB will do it but just in case. Most of us live in big cities where there are at least a couple of BB and at worse some of the stores will do the return/rebuy. It seems like each yr BB is getting a little smarter. I dont want to be in line at 6 am and not see any vid cards or other specials. As I recall last yr, their ads also said minimum 10 (or some other quantity) and many stores didn't even have any at 6 am and there was more than quite a few angry shoppers and BB did nothing. Last yr, I scored a 60 GB HD, Dreamcasts and GF3Ti200. This yr its a Ti4200. Nothing else looks that hot to me this yr.
