This is so sweet. I am glad for not doubting you, wiz. I bought it yesterday, picked it up today, and will return/rebuy it on Friday morning, just like I did last year for my TI200 (with the fan that has been replaced 2x - anyone else have this problem?)! YES!

I did the same thing last year for my Ti200.

I also have had to replace my fan twice. Visiontek was real good about sending me new fans. Once I heard they were going under, I requested a new fan just in case I needed one. Good thing I did cause I did need another one a month later.

Heh, if you REALLY wanna screw someone over, go to BB before the sale and search through all the washers, dryers, cabinets, hidey-holes and move all the stuff you find hidden inside. Better yet, put it all back on the shelf.

is this the process ?

1. go into BB before noon ? do we need to go to the same BB we bought the card from ?
2. ask to return and immediately rebuy the card ?
so that you can
a. use 10% coupon if possible
b. get a new receipt along with BB rebate receipts

is that the correct process ? or can you just ask for a pricematch ?
people who did this for last years deal ... please help ...

Disaster strikes.. Ahhh i just got a reply from bestbuy now saying that the store i ordered it from no longer carries the card or something? !!!! They gotta have stock somewhere, otherwise it's illeagal to be advertising for it! I tried claling storews to check if I could find any that had in stock but I guess they were promptly closing at 10 according to the machine, but was more so promptly closing at 9:30... I must get this card for that price though! I will hide it somewhere in bestbuy if nessisary! lol anyways just needed to spaz good luck finding the card unless you happen to be in the MINNEAPOLIS area, then screw you! I want!!!! lol

That's what happened to me and I had a feeling that it would. I ordered on Monday for in-store pick up and I hadn't received my confirmation by last night, so I went to BB (the store that I selected for in-store pick up) and they had 8 cards on the shelf. I grabbed 1 and figured that I'd just cancel my online order. Anyway.. Today I get an email from BB saying that they could not fill my order, which is a complete lie. Guess I don't have to cancel my online order now.

My advice is to head out to your local BB ASAP and grab a card. No telling when they will pull them for the sale on Friday.

hey, for those of you who have bought the cards and put them into ur machines....what tv encoder does this use?
i'm trying to get a card w/ tv out to watch divx videos and i hear that the conexant/brooktree chips have the best quality

I wouldn't believe it... what kind of store, especially a major chain, wouldn't do returns on the biggest shopping day of the year? Was this stated in their ad? Talk about a PR nightmare if something like that ever happened...

For everyone wondering if you would need to do a return and rebuy on Black Friday, it appears that may not be a problem. Only certain things in the ad are for 6 hours only. Some of the prices in the ad are good for the whole week.
I have not seen the ad but I know it is posted in a thread on the forum somewhere. This thread HERE says that the vid card is on sale all week.

I ordered mine at 10PM last nioght for store pickup. I never waited for the confirmation email saying it had been pulled from stock, I just showed up at the store right when it opened this morning and went to get a card off the shelf.....they were all gone.
Went to the online pickup counter and they had it already pulled and waiting for me.....SCORE

I wouldn't believe it... what kind of store, especially a major chain, wouldn't do returns on the biggest shopping day of the year? Was this stated in their ad? Talk about a PR nightmare if something like that ever happened...

I did this last year with the Ti200. I didn't even bring in the card, I just showed them the receipt that showed I had just bought it 2 days before and they did a return and a resell without me aksing.

Most stores provide some sort of price protection for about 30 days.....not sure what BBs policy is.

I did the same thing last year too, but in a world of truth and justice, the peepz who spend half the night in the cold and freezing weather should get the cards.

So hopefully BB will not let lazy people like me return and rebuy this year.

Anyway, I'm using my new BFG card right now after being assured of an open-box return if needed. It has Samsung TC40 RAM and its maximum overclock is 285 / 570. I'm not sure if this is 100% stable yet, but it runs 3DMark and Madden 2K3 at these speeds flawlessly. It's a lot smoother than my Black Friday TI 200 @ 215 / 515 and I get a 12145 with an Athlon XP at 1833 (166 FSB) with 41.03 NEDs. That's a 29% improvement over my overclocked TI 200 scores. It could be better once I reboot and tweak.

I'd be interested in hearing others' results. Come on. Open 'em up boys!
