I've got a trusty BH6 (rev1.0) that I've been running a C2-566 @850 very stable (default voltage) with the SS BIOS. For some crazy reason, I want to try a P3 1ghz. Has anyone had success with pushing this old board up to that speed? My framerates in Winigolf are lagging.

I've ran an 866 at 133 MHz FSB on mine. Gonna try a 1 GHz when the prices drop some more.

I have basically the same setup but with a Cel 300A oc'd 450 mhz. I was deciding today on whether or not to upgrade or build a new system. I have a post above yours. Titled "which motherboard for a P3 700mhz~1ghz." I thought that I might as well spend the money for a system upgrade than a processor upgrade.

I don't know how much longer my Abit BH6 will last. It would seem that with the SS bios, you should be able to put in a P3 1ghz (100mhz bus). Buy a MSI 6905 slocket w/ alpha cooler and you should be in business. My two cents.

Abit be-6 II with P-II 866 134 FSB

134
6.5
1/4
2/3
normal
1.65
3.6

bios settings to get 440bx at 134

Read article regarding my mobo busting up to 133, by the way, the article stated this combo out performs solanos

if the bios supports is similar to the be-6 II??? It could work

Better check at ABIT. Don't think that board can even take chip that high. I have the BH6 Rev 1.0 as well. They told me it couldn't take a coppermine chip. Could be wrong.

Well, I'm running a C2 566 @ 850 right now, as I posted. The multiplier goes up to at least 10 and the fsb goes up to 133, so I'm going to guess that it'll run a PIII 1ghz. I'd like to hear from anyone with that setup before I invest, though.

Not all the BH6's feature a 1/4 divider at 133mzh FSB, only 1.1 and above I believe, so be wary that you could very well be trying to run your PCI devices at 44mhz, a speed not many things like.

You'd probably have to find a P3 1000 (100FSB) instead of the more common P3 1000 (133FSB)
