Bicycle clearance time at Target, again

Does the price tag shown the actual lowered price or does it only shows up at checkout? I'm asking becasuse the store(s) in Austin still have the same old price on all the bike. So no deal for me... Any Austinite score this deal?

They have their regular pricetag or one that is reduced to around $ 98 . You need to take the tag to the cashier and it will show the dumping price.

henrycheang, you can either take them to the scanner and try to scan them yourself or find someone with a handheld scanner and they can scan them for you.

I went to 2 stores in El Paso, TX. One still had the original price but scanned the sale price. The other had the discounted price on it. Bought one for myself and one to give away to my employees at work.

Well the 2 bikes I bought both have the big tag for ~$70. Takin the tag to a scanner did not work. Apparently they scan the barcode right under the handle bar. Anyway, after some careful looking I saw a small clearance tag on the fork. It's one of those small red clearance price tag. It seems as if they want people to miss it.

Its funny...


For every hobby, there are enthusiasts, and beginners... I can see this, in the way that I feel about building computer systems..


The really great enthusiasts are the ones that dont bad talk the lower end stuf.. they encourage beginners, and then the beginer may gain the love, and start getting into the funs stuff... if the beginner does not, then they still sin, because they havent shelled out a huge sum of money for somethign they wont use....

I know you are trying to be helpful BUT

all the talk of 3000$ or even 250$ as well as tune ups, scares people away.

Most of us just remember being a kid, and jumping on our little huffy's and riding all summer long... I didnt need a 500$ bike or a tune up then, and most of us dont now....

Just got my 26" Magna XL2. The Target in Irvine, CA had two 24" XL2's left. Went for a ride and yes, it does feel a little like a Hyundai, but it was $30! Mine didn't come with a manual, documentation or tools. Anybody wish to scan in theirs for me? Thanks again to the forum.

Ok, my target only had the 26inch elite left,, is this one or the DV8 better? I am going to checkthe oterh target tomorrow..... is 26inch to big for my wife? she is about 5'9''

WageSlave, 26" bike should be fine for your wife. If she's 5'9", she won't want a 24" bike. As for which is better, both bikes are made by Pacific just different styles. Both are nice imo.

I saw 1 Pacific Elite at the Los Altos Target today (Bellflower & Stearns by Compusa). They restocked their bike rack and it must have just been built as it wasn't there last week. They also had a Mongoose Decade (42.44) but it looked like it was a return. There were alot of water spots on the bike and no stickers. There was also another Pacific Elite but it also looked like a return because it too was filthy and was missing parts.

Well, I think the Elite is kinda ugly, but for 40$ I guess I cant complain.. maybe I will pick up 2 tomorrow... also, its just the DV8 and the Elite n sale right? the guy at my staples sounded like he knew all about it, but he wasnt very helpful, kind of a jerk... some punk with messy hair and dirty looking, going for that dirty rock star look


shoot im only 24 and already anyone under 20 is annoying me if they arent clean and dressed nicely
