Funny I just crashed my bike on Friday because a buddy cut me off when he tried to pass me. Got similar scrapes, and neck sore from wipe lash. I also, dented my helmet on the left temple from smacking my head on to a pebble (this is the second time that a helmet save me?the first time I cracked the outer shell from the spill).

They do that so they can pick gravel and such out easier when they crash.

That's just as much a BS reason as the aerodynamic one. Skateboarders get a lot more scrapes like that than cyclists do, and you don't see them shaving thier legs.

The only real reason that cyclists shave thier legs is to fit in with other cyclists that shave thier legs.

Why do I have a feeling that this thread has something to do with all the other bike threads lately to scare people who ride bikes to stop ridding them. It doesn't scare me though because I can't fly forward off my bike Thats the biggest advantage of a recumbent!

Well, the styro in my helmut was cracked pretty good so I replaced the unit and will retire the old unit to a shelf in my office and tell stories about it.

I'm feeling the whiplash now. Rode 32 tonight.

I was doing about 20 mph, the car and I were about 15 feet from the intersection. I reacted and was on the ground just in front of the intersection. I didn't have enough momentum to skid into it. She stopped in the middle of said intersection to inquire if I had an broken bones, then sped off.

It's not my intent to skeer sheeple off bikes. I'm posting stories about my rides to encourage those with bikes being used as clothes racks. I rode 32 today despite my injuries.
