Stopping with the front brake gives you the most power and is the right way to break. You just forgot to shift your weight back enough. Glad your ok.

Thanks, ya, I used to practice that move, slide all the way back, shifting down behind the seat nearly sitting on the rear wheel. I was tired, dehydrated and wasn't thinking very clearly.

Um, if I were better at ASCII I'd draw you a diagram. I looked up and saw her....reacted by clenching on the brake. Impact was imminent but not immediate. I'm not saying it was her fault. the crash was largely due to my reacting by grabbing the front brake vs. the rear.
