It does no such thing. Sessions' zero tolerance policy set the number of family separations skyrocketing. It was deliberate cruelty designed to discourage asylum seekers from doing so. It also pandered nicely to the "fuck those people!" attitude in the GOP base, too.

I'll bet you all the burritos n Mexico that the majority of asylum seekers coming to our southern border do not actually need asylum, but they are trying to bypass the system. I'm sure there are some legit seekers of asylum and that's fine and dandy, I'm sure coming to a country that allows the individual right to owning firearms is a great relief to the persecuted. But, again, most people are just trying to gain access to our country. They can be fired right back across the border.

So you are saying that family separation didn't start occurring until Trump and Sessions showed up? Also, asylum seekers can't go "country shopping" when seeking asylum.
