I didn't create it; I recognized it. It is not ok regardless of circumstance, but you accept and justify it. Also, yes you run away, you refused to engage me on about half a dozen threads. That this is the one you felt confident enough to go for it... man that's just telling. You would have made very fine Nazi.

Edit: If it isn't clear to you, I'll just spell it out. You are not seeing asylum seekers, migrants, illegals, or what ever your want to call them as people. From that position you justify treatment that you would be outraged if it was exacted on your family. That is not ok. I'm sorry if it hurts for the world to see you for what you are, but you made the choice to be that way.

Is my family trying to enter another country without proper documentation, possibly become citizens and/or seeking asylum, and to do so crossing a border that there is a real issue with human trafficking, illegal immigration, and drug smuggling? If so, I think some red tape and hardship before getting to the other end of the tunnel should be expected. I like how you left all that out.

So what? So what??

Damn, son, you really are one fine piece of shit, aren't you?

And the 12 year old sex slave diversion. So we are to assume, I suppose according to your logic, that every family unit that appears at the border claiming asylum is automatically a child sex slave ring until proven otherwise, correct? That's what you're saying.

And most rational persons with actual empathy would take a different path, like maybe assume family units are just that until proven otherwise.

And why not? It's not like any member of the family is going anywhere, so why shouldn't the family stay together? And since our vetting program seems to work at least decently, as demonstrated by the gang members deported from the asylum seekers after vetting, I'd trust that to come to a proper conclusion instead of treating the family as human traffickers. Of course, I'm human with empathy.

Not to mention we readily admit that not every family will be reunited, because we don't actually have the capability to track all of the separations. It boggles my mind when people not only accept this, but they try to justify it.

Sorry to double post but...

I like how you left out that they are still people, and in many cases families that we don't even have the capabilities to reunite. FFS dude. You would bitch up a storm if this happened to someone close to you. You are devoid of empathy in this situation. Again it is extremely telling that this of all things you engaged me on. Wow.

Of course I'm considering that they are people. I just said if I were coming to a country without documentation or the normal legal channels I should expect some difficulty. You sound suspiciously like someone that has never considered that there may be valid arguments against your position on this topic.

Back that up, liar.

Every post you've made in this thread? Fucking lol. Yes drugs, human trafficking, and what ever other boogey man you want to conjure, but the truth is we don't even have the capability to reunite all the families that have been separated. I'm not supporting that shit, but you are sure as shit supporting the separations. I'm not the liar. You are.

I answered you directly. I'm sorry the truth hurts.

You answered these?

T/F? If you do something illegal, you risk going to jail/prison.

T/F? When a parent or guardian goes to jail/prison, they don't bring their family.

Where, which post number? Do you know how ture/false questions work?

Come the fuck on, at least pretend to be a decent person.

Edit: in case I'm not being clear... yes there are legitimate cases here. Some of them are just ... shrug... we can't do it.

So, families are separated regularly in this country when the adults in the family do something illegal... might be dots for you to connect here. Glad you agree this is the norm!

That's tough, with soooooooo many illegal families to sift through that is probably going to be a problem. A wall can help here, less illegal crossing will occur. From that article it sounds like that is less than 1%, we would need to do better if we kept this otherwise sound practice of separation, but let's not pretend this was an epidemic either. I wouldn't be shocked if many some of those that cannot be reunited didn't come with their parents in the first place. Have you seen the statistics regarding how often the families send the kids and adults separately anyway? It isn't uncommon.

Also, how do you reconcile your Trump rage with the fact that this has been happening well before Trump?

Yeah, just because we've fucked up in the past means we can't possibly do better. Let us keep in mind that you're fighting for this. I'm not fighting for the stuff like human trafficking. I'm saying we need to do a better job of keeping families that don't deserve to be broken up together. You're just saying lol that shit happens sometimes. Disgusting.

I don't know why you thinking that people crossing, surrendering, and seeking asylum is such a crime that justifies when things like this happens. I really don't. It's even worse when you consider the fucking around America has done in South America to help create the problem.

ignore is your friend. It's sad watching people obviously battling with one of my ignored in threads. They are wearing themselves out on people who aren't worth 2 cents.
I've never actually used the ignore function. I don't mind just scrolling past. Can definitely understand those that do.

We weren't fucking up though, we were doing what we should have been doing, what no one cared that we were doing until Trump did it, then it was of course the worst thing ever. And while we shouldn't permanently separate any family that doesn't have criminal underpinnings, I'm fine with a temporary situation of that happening... SUCH AS IS THE CASE WITH EVERY PARENT THAT HAS GONE TO PRISON EVER.

It isn't necessarily a crime (though you must admit how many come here is in fact a crime, and in which case seen my last sentence of the above paragraph), but it is fair to want to vet those that are coming here seeking asylum and ensure their intentions are pure and good. I am very close friends with some legal immigrants, and they hate how people take advantage of the system or come here illegally. It isn't fair and I don't blame them.

Again, your views are based strictly on the feels and not logic. We need to make sure our country is safe and that we're taking in good people.

In my defense, I was actually trying to give him a chance. Note that not once did slow ever actually defend separating families that won't be able to be reunited. Everything was excuses and misguided justifications. I've been on the fence on whether or not he is a troll, and I learned something today. He's not a troll. Someone tells him what to think, and he just runs with it. When the nuances of the situation are beaten into his skull despite his resistance to it, he just scurries away. He doesn't actually learn. I actually feel a bit bad for him.

You continue to ignore that this happens to families that don't have "criminal underpinnings." Sad.

And once that is determined let's reunite those families and let them stay if they're here for valid reasons. If not, they can be fired back across the border as a family.

Do you know that seeking Asylum is not illegal?
Do you know that questions should end with a question mark?

From a different article

"Apparently swiping at President Donald Trump in particular, Biden criticized the separation of migrant families. “The America I see values basic human decency, not snatching children from their parents or turning our back on refugees at our border,” he said. “The American people understand…because it makes us an embarrassment. The American people know, overwhelmingly that it is not right. That it is not who we are."

https://www.newsweek.com/joe-biden-immigration-europe-nato-donald-trump-1334094

Hard to disagree with him although I think he's a wee bit optimistic re what the "American people' know and understand given that roughly 40% seem to be just fine with what's been happening in their country.

(Edit: forgot the link)
I'm glad Biden wasn't vice president of an administration that put kids in cages or he would look silly for his statements.
