I really enjoy that even beyond the fact that this whole thread is based on a false premise, that the OP won’t stop assuming that all Indians are IT workers, that their labor value would somehow be less than a native American citizen once they are naturalized, and that his own countrymen would somehow be less competitive for these jobs. This whole thread is completely and utterly retarded with no possibility of redemption for the OP. It really exposes Trump voters for what they are .. hateful morons whose entire existence and political views consists of wishing the worst on others.
Says the guy whose party wants to start a list of Trump supporters to punish.

I'll bump this thread again once the groaning starts from IT people who have been laid off or fired. Lower labor rates for the insanely rich. lol. Maybe you'll see soon how much wisdom there actually was in Trump wanting to take care of Americans first.

So what you're saying is, if anyone gets laid off or fired in the next four years, it's Biden's fault?

Trump wanting to take care of Americans first.

Did this actually happen, or was it more in the form of "thoughts and prayers"?

You realize why labor is cheap over in India etc, right? You really just need to sign up for a Parler account and get it over with.
You realize the only difference between them and you is a little training? You don't think these places will train these guys up at half the price? You do realize the Indians are a very smart people? They are going to destroy your industry.

Newsflash ... the domestic IT labor market went to poop a long time ago.

Have you ever meet a honest politician?

Open your eyes fool. Why do you think big tech was such an advocate for Biden? Censoring the media and the American public. It's actually fucking genius. Welcome to what us blue collar guys have been dealing with for decades. lol

I'll repeat my question
Did you read the article you posted?

Finally some good news. I understand now why big tech was such advocates for Biden. Looks like a flood of cheap labor coming to programming and IT. lol
Decided to read the article. Essentially going back to the ways it has been done for the last century until Trump arrived. That's how Trump's family got here.

You really don't get how any of this works, do you? You don't even know what industry I'm in for that matter.

All kidding aside moving forward the Democrats DO need a major change from the top down in order to remain relevant. I honestly believe this is the last time the traditional approach to picking a candidate will win.

If we don't commit to listening and REALLY UNDERSTANDING why 70 million + voted for Trump we'll be right back here again in '24.

Yea, lots of people voted for Trump. And if you think Parler is unbiased, lol....well that's funny

per my brief read of the parlor terms it appears to be easier for people to “block” certain types of posts and they reserve the right to remove or limit shares objectionable posts.
Sounds like Facebook but easier to block.

America's IT industry has been gutted heavily, off shored across the globe and lots of that ended up in India. You just didn't care until now. Unlike your preferred leaders, HRC had a plan to help those displaced.

America's "IT Force" in terms of traditional IT roles also is shrinking due to things like VM Ware and Cloud hosting. You don't need an army of admins at a large employer to support a datacenter of a couple thousand servers. All that stuff lives in a big data center owned by someone else with a fraction of the required overhead.

One of the best decisions I made in my career, although I started to pursue it, was Network Administration. Places were throwing money left and right at you if you had magic certification paper. Then you find out the cost of the certification outfits and wonder if it would be worth it. Also, to make real money programming which is really what I wanted to do, you needed to be a Systems Analyst. Lots of competition for those jobs now. Not niche enough.

15 years ago I knew that the "hard" IT jobs were going to dwindle. Desktop support. Network admin. System admin. Ect. Working on physical IT components was going to be a losing battle as that space was going to shrink. I knew how quickly datacenters and hosting was growing and that was the future. I put my effort into learning the more soft side of things - workflow design, application support, project management, ect. Things that were largely transferable from one position to another and not necessarily industry specific. It allowed me more doors going forward to open.

Truedat.

My company sells SaaS solutions to clients - previously we did our own cloud hosting but moved it to AWS. Performance has been top-notch and people were axed.

Glad I'm not a part of that stuff... Net admins, sys admins, dba admins... no one in IT is safe for the chopping block these days it seems.

Surprisingly I've found that Oil & Gas is one industry where they have some of the most top-notch IT security and least likely to move to outsourcing/cloud vs. plenty of other industries I've seen over the years.
