I just picked up Need for Speed: Hot Persuit 2 at Blockbuster for $15 (after the extra 25%)-- beautiful condition but no manual The only ones they had for less than $10 were a few football games( Madden 2003 and Sega something 2k3). They also had Starfox, Mario, Wreckless, RE 0, Medal of Honor, and Sonic -- all for about $15-22. I think I'll have to check out the other BB on the way home

Yup, grabbed NFL 2K3 for $5.25 after the 25% off - box, manual and disc are in pristine condition. Also got Super Smash Bros. Melee for $18.74, again with box and manual, although that disc is a little bit more "used".

I checked 3 Blockbusters. Two of them had a rather limited selection, but overall there were a whole ton of other games. The cheapest were $5.25 after discount (sports games like NFL 2K3, Madden 2003, All-Star Baseball 2003) and it went up from there.

Sweet.

The $5/$20/$40 (for 1, 2, and 3 games respectively) is back at Ebgames. (You get it back in the form of an EBGames GC as usual.)

It qualifies for ANY Gameboy Advance and/or Gamecube Game this time though (as long as its not used, and $19.99+). Has to be all on the same reciept.

So-so deal, but Target's regular price for Nintendo brand controllers is $19.99, as opposed to $24.99 everywhere else. They also have a lot of the "Spice" color controller which appearently is highly sought after (I noticed some stores charge a premium for it as well).

Also, that SVideo/audio cable for the GC is down to $1.99. It's in the clearence items piled at the end of the isles in the electronics section.

Also, it seems that ALL Mario titles are $29.99 at Blockbuster. That's cheaper than the used price in most places

Where can I find more about this deal? Is it part of some coupon sheet I can find in stores?

Edit: Never mind. I went to EB and picked up the gift voucher redemption form.

Is this the Nintendo brand cable? Or a third party brand?

I know someone asked about the availability of the preview disk in an earlier post....and odn't think I've seen anything else on that. Just wanted to say I got it at Fry's in Oregon today for $9.99, which I assume is the standard price. So they are out there.....sorry if it's already been said and I missed it.

At a local blockbuster I got two wavebird controllers for $8 each and metroid prime new for $5. I love closing store/employee discounts.

Depends on which one you go to. I make sure to find the books. We don't usually put them in the rental anymore because they are usally gone after the first rental. We just keep them all in a big box behind the counter.

I guess the Blockbuster deals are very much YMMV. My store has Metroid for 49.95. There's a cold deal!

Any chance of getting a list update? I'm pretty sure Zelda is not on pre-order anymore

Also, I am strongly considering getting a GC on the strength of 3 games: MP, Super Mario Sunshine, and Zelda. Is it worth my $200?

Did you have them ring up Metroid? Lots of people were finding it with the $49.99 pricetag but it would scan at $19.99.

If you are considering buying a GC, you might want to hold off until June or July. They will be packing in the Gameboy Advance Player for free ($149.99). It would open up a whole new library of games, some of which are great.

Do you know if the free game will be offered as well? I was thinking about taking advantage of the 10% at BB this weekend and picking up one of the 3 platinum cubes they have left. Zelda is still offered as one of the free games correct?

Is it worth it? I think so. The Gamecube is not selling as well as the other consoles, but I think it's great.
I got mine a little over a month ago and I have to say that Metroid Prime, Zelda WW, and Super Smash Bros. Melee are three of the best console games I've ever played. I've also picked up a couple of other fun games very cheaply, thanks to this thread.

Plus, down the road there are games like F-Zero, Soul Calibur 2, Mario Kart, and many others. Even if 3rd party development wanes for the GC, it's going to have enough great games to last for a while.

The other consoles have their upsides as well, but the price of the GC along with some awesome exclusive titles has made me very happy with my purchase.

Of course, if that's what you want to play--I just picked one up myself--I don't know if I'd have it as my primary system or not (the XBOX has it's role there for me), but as a secondary one, I think it's good--especially these days if you can bag the Metroid at 19.99 deal at Blockbuster and get a GC bundle with Zelda (packed in at walmart with the ocarina of time bonus disk)....not bad for 170.

Forgive my ignorance, and perhaps laziness for not reading through the 1300+ posts. What is included with the OOT bonus disk??

You get the OOT game from the N64, ported to work on the game cube. Plus some of the dungeons are expanded, I think.

The bonus disc includes Ocarina of Time, Ocarina of Time: Master Quest, and some demo movies of various games. Master Quest is the same storyline as Ocarina of Time but the dungeons maps are different and harder. Also you stated on a previous post that you were planning on using the Best Buy 10% discount this weekend, I think they might not accept it because on the 10% coupon it states that it cannot be used for video game hardware. When I saw the 10% discount I also was planning on using it, but now I have to decide to either buy the GC and zelda bundle from wal-mart or the mario sunshine bundle from Best Buy.

I think I will join you in doing the same. Might try and hold out for the GBA adapter or the $99 price drop, but that might be awhile...

Also Nintendo got smacked in the face by SONY and MS, so now they're going to dump a ton of money into new games from third parties. The Gamecube could come out from behind this Christmas!

I'd like to hold out for the GB Player if I am certain that the free-game-with-'Cube-purchase dealie will still be around by then. Is there any mention as to when this offer ends?

If you're hoping to get the free GB Player AND free game, i doubt it's going to happen. This is because way back when the free game started, they said it would run through May (23rd? not sure of the exact date) and that was it. Not coincidentally, most mentions of the free GB Player say it starts in June. If you want the free game, you should move fast.

Hmm I don't need much prodding. I think I'll call a few Wal-Marts after work today.
