I guess the Blockbuster deals are very much YMMV. My store has Metroid for 49.95. There's a cold deal!

Any chance of getting a list update? I'm pretty sure Zelda is not on pre-order anymore

Also, I am strongly considering getting a GC on the strength of 3 games: MP, Super Mario Sunshine, and Zelda. Is it worth my $200?

Did you have them ring up Metroid? Lots of people were finding it with the $49.99 pricetag but it would scan at $19.99.

If you are considering buying a GC, you might want to hold off until June or July. They will be packing in the Gameboy Advance Player for free ($149.99). It would open up a whole new library of games, some of which are great.

Do you know if the free game will be offered as well? I was thinking about taking advantage of the 10% at BB this weekend and picking up one of the 3 platinum cubes they have left. Zelda is still offered as one of the free games correct?

Usually, Best Buy's Preferred customer 10% off coupons specifically exclude Video Game consoles. I've checked closely each time.
Its probably because they have an agreement to stay at a certain pricepoint according to the manufacturer.

Thanks Prismic and SOSTrooper! I've updated the list with the deals you mentioned, and also added Wave Race Blue Storm and Pikmin as well. There are a lot of sub $20 games on Walmart.com. Too many for me to add to the list this morning, but I will try to get to them as soon as possible.

I went to the FYE in Mazza Galerie in DC last night. They had this Gamecube deal:

GC bundle with console plus three games: Defender, Spyro Gyro, and Crash Bandicott. This was for $149 - $20 MIR for $129 total. I tried to get one with a free Zelda, but the lady there told me that you couldn't get the free game from Nintendo with the bundle. She wasn't too sure at first, but really convinced herself by the end of the discussion, so YMMV. Also, they didn't have any Zelda or Mario Party games out front, so she was going to have to go to the back to look for one. She might have been telling me this story just to be lazy, but I don't think so, because she seemed like a manager who would rather make a sale than save a trip to the back.

I passed on it, because I don't really want those three games. If you could still get a free game from the good list, then the extra three free crappy games might sweeten the pot enough to make it worth it. The games were (poorly) shrinkwrapped around a gamecube box, so it all came together in one package.

-Mike

PS I posted this in the "$149 xbox and ps2 at Coconuts/FYE" thread as well

PPS I was in there with my brother in law and both of us were going to buy this deal, so she passed up on TWO sales.

It qualifies for ANY Gameboy Advance and/or Gamecube Game this time though (as long as its not used, and $19.99+). Has to be all on the same reciept.

Couple questions on this.....does this mean you trade in three games and get $65 credit for them ($5+$20+$40=$65)? Don't recall this deal before, so I'm not familiar with it. Also is it still going on? I know this post is from nearly a week ago, so want to know before I drag games up to EB to trade in.

In other words, they made their own bundle. They're trying to get rid of crappy games and keeping the high profit popular games. That stinks

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secret: Walmart.com - $9.82

I've actually heard this was pretty good. Are walmart.com's prices usually the same as in-store?

Looking to head over there pretty soon, anyone know the answer?

Google is your friend.

Thanks smartass The question I'm asking (had you actually read) was if walmart.com and walmart's stores usually have the same prices.

Er? No no no.

If you buy one NEW Gamecube/Gameboy game, you will get $5 back from a mail in gift certificate. Buy two, you will get $20. Buy three, you will get $40.

The games again, must be new. They must be $19.99 or higher. It ends at the 30th of this month.

I'm REALLY thinking about getting Ikaruga (GC) + Puzzle Fighter (GBA) + Golden Sun - Lost Age (GBA). Would be ~$100 + tax, but get $40 back in GC. So then total is essentially $60 + tax (if you were to spend that money at ebgames anyways). But damn thats a lot of money.

cool....thanks for clearing that up for me.....I figured I wasn't right with the whole "game has to be new" portion of that. Guess I'm stuck with my crappy PS2 and XBox games still then =(

All of the Wal-Marts I have asked state that the Website is a different company, and that the stores/website will not PM each other. Personally, I think it's a load of crap, but that's the way they do it.

To clear the walmart confusion, deals at walmart.com are absolutely NOT applicable to the retail stores.

I heard they had broadband adapters at Walmart, but I've yet to come across it. Anyone know a better place? Do they have Platinum broadband adapters?

ok, i'm catching on, but please can you explain more. is this an automatic deal? i see no mention of it on the website. is it valid online? only in stores? i gather that it's a mail-in gift certificate redeemable for up to a $40 gift card. so if i got online and order 3 new $19.99+ games for gc/gba, that cert. will come automatically? this is an awesome deal, and i'd love to use it.

As far as I can tell, this is for in-store only. I never bothered to ask whether it would work for buying it online or not, but I'm pretty sure the answer will be no. They often run different ones in-store, usually better ones at that. Theres usually a stack of flyers on the checkout desk. If not, you should ask em about it because these deals are supposed to be national. Some just don't have it out and stuff.

Yeah, you send in a mail in form with the reciept. No need to cut out the UPC thank god (I like to keep my cases, cover, manual in good shape) but make sure to read the instructions as who knows if they ever change. You will get the respective amount back ($5/$20/$40) in the form of a paper gift certificate by 8 weeks. I have done this twice so far, and one took only about a month, the other about two months, but I had absolutely no trouble.

Make sure you buy everything in a single purchase (they must be all on the same reciept.) Damn I would scan it for you, but I have absolutely no idea where it went. I swear it was on my desk... I'll keep looking.

If any of you are still after the demo disc, it's $9.99 at most, but not all, Targets. It's also $9.99 at ALL Gamestops, apparently Gamestop got the go ahead from Nintendo to sell the demo discs separately. My guess is that EB will soon follow suit as well.

Soul Calibur 2 is fun.
Viewtiful Joe is fun.
Billy Hatcher? Uhhhh, ok, it's kind of appealing in a bizarre and goofy kind of way.
Sonic Adventure DX is retarded, it suffers from slowdowns not in the DC version. GG Sega.

Splinter Cell is great I guess, assuming you don't already have it. Which you should.

LOL, I know someone from here or FW came into my store today because they wanted me to scan a lot of the game titles for the "real" price. Sorry buddy, that is as low as they are going to go. Someone also came in earlier for xbox mech assult and wanted to all the ones we had.

While browsing the costco site I noticed that you can pre-order the gameboy player for $36 plus $5 shipping and handling. This might be good for those who have a costco card and plan on buying the gameboy player.

Woah nice. This thing is going to be retailing for $50 at retailers so a nice $10 saved.

When is the Gameboy player going to start being bundled? Theres an ad in this month's EGM from EB Games for the free game promotion, specifically says it runs until July 23rd. If they start the player pack in before that, it could be a HOT deal.
