Woohoo, got it from CompUSA in Princeton NJ, they've only got one left. I've also heard the one in Springfield NJ has some. As I said before, they're selling them for $10 out the door, no pre-order or anything needed.

When you get on the phone with them be sure to ask for the "Zelda Pre-Order Bonus Disk". I was just asking for zelda for the gamecube at first (thought I'd make it simple), and he said they had none. Once I said Bonus Disk he figured it out though.

Just wanted to add that I saw Time Splitters 2 at CompUSA for $29.99 also.

I ended up buying it at Best Buy because of the $5 Gamers coupon.

Also, I don't remember seeing it here, but I thought that gossip is that a new Gamecube with DVD playing capabilities is coming out (that may be the reasons for the Dec and Feb. Nintendo promos). I had considered Xbox and Playstation 2 strongly because of their DVD capabilities

I could not wait as I wanted to play Beach Spikers (plus the Mario games are only available for the GameCube).

I really doubt Nintendo will release a Gamecube with DVD playing capabilities at this point. It would only add to their cost of manufacturing each Cube. Besides, Panasonic already makes one that does this (the Q), it's just only available in Japan. If anything, it would make more sense for Panasonic to just release the Q in the states.

Well I caved and bought Super Monkey Ball 2 used from EBGames.com for bout $35. Damn, I've been searching forever and thats the best deal I could get.

KBToys have dropped the prices on the Player Choice games already. But just buy it from Best Buy and make sure to use that $5 gamers coupon to get them for $25.

There are some games in their clearance department you guys may want to check out. They have the Nintendo 251 memory card for $14.97 and Smugglers Run: Warzones for $14.97 both with free shipping. following a thread from dvdtalk, i went to walmart in hopes of trying to get the zelda bonus disc free with a preorder. sure enough, the game was there when i got to walmart but they were trying to sell it to me for $10 and they never heard of the preorder promotion or zelda windwalker for that matter. i point the salesperson to walmart.com and told him they were doing it online but it was a no go. so go check your walmart and you might be lucky enough to get the bonus disc free instantly with a preorder or if you dont mind paying the $10, you can get the bonus disc a week or two before its street date. while i was there i also saw some good deals on consoles:
nintendo gamecube indigo w/mario sunshine and memory card 59 bundle - $149.44
nintendo gamecube indigo - $142.99

this was at the walmart in sac on truxel road off of i80 by the way..

Circuit City has the system priced $139.99 on their website, probably same in stores. People who bought elsewhere may want to pricematch or if you are looking to buy go to Circuit City. That deal at Fry's that herkulease mentioned is good as well.

theres just no reason to buy nba2k3 or nfl 2k3 when its much better on the other systems with updates and net play
hell even the dreamcast sega sports games had net play
how can sega expect to sell there 2k3 games if you cant even update the rosters when you can do so on the ps2 and xbox
then again we do have 2 ps2's, 2 gamecubes and a xbox at my apartment so i guess i can be picky
oh yea and i don't really like pso

you have some valid points.. Not having online play is a minus compared to other consoles but dosent take away from NHL2k3 & NBA2k3 being great games.

lets just agree to disagree.

I dont like PSO either.

The free game with Gamecube special is scheduled to run through May which would may be when we see another console price reduction as end of May was when last year's reductions were announced.

If all of these companies would quit releasing their "crap" for the Gamecube and making their good games for the other two systems, then maybe someone would buy the 3rd party games. Such as Capcom not making AutoModelista and Breath of Fire for GC but instead the PS2.

Extra Edit: Or Sega making Panzer Dragoon for XBOX instead of Gamecube. ...or Squaresoft making FF Chronicals but not FF X for GC. Its just like no one wants to compete with Nintendo's games. (and yes I know Capcom makes Resident Evil for GC, but thats it as far as good goes from them)

Edit: Circuit City now has Gamecube console online with FREE shipping and for only $139.99 with free game now!!! Maybe ...here comes the price wars?

Don't forget that Capcom has pretty much made the Resident Evil franchise exclusive to the Gamecube and that was a big money maker for them. I agree with you that most companies aren't releasing anything all that noteworthy on the Gamecube. I hate hearing developers whine how their games aren't selling well on the Gamecube cause people are only buying the Nintendo made games. You'd think it would be incentive to maybe make better games that are up to the calibur that Nintendo makes, but instead developers would just rather stop competing with Nintendo and focus on other hardware. Oh well. IN any event, I don't think Capcom was maybe the best example to use as they have put some great games on the Gamecube with more on the way.
