Fry's should be moving East soon.....next planned locations are Atlanta and Orlando now that Vegas is done. They're also planning another one for Porland, OR. So at least they're moving further east, but I don't think any of those locations will help you guys....sorry.

PS....NEVER WORK AT FRY'S....JUST SHOP THERE!!!!!

theinquirer reports platinum gamecube + zelda + zelda bonus disk for $149 ... no date tho....
gamespot is reporting that the deal goes on sale may 4th....
So, does this mean that Nintendo won't be lowering the price on the GameCube as reported?

- dm

my links were from before news of the price drop came out... any speculation ive read is that u will still get a free game for $99. If nintendo is able to sell their console for under a hundred with a game, they will have a lot of people buying it on impulse.

Anyone seen any deals on NBA Street Vol. 2?

The best I have seen online is free shipping from ebgames and gamestop.

Since wiredlounge is down, there is no hope for a good price from there

Edit:
No message in 3 days - is this thread dying???

Does anyone know if there will be pricedrops on games for Gamecube after E3? Maybe there will be more of the player's choice games. There are certain games that I want to buy now, but I don't know if I should hold off until after E3...

I read at Shugashack.com that rumors abound of the price cut on all 3 consoles. Supposedly GC would be 99.00 or so.

I'd wait and see.

That is hard to know in advance unless someone here has insider information. Many stores are often surprised by the price cuts announced at E3. I would expect that some more titles will be added, but we will have to wait and see.

I think it is beyond rumor at this point. It is pretty much a given that all 3 are going to drop $50 bucks in the coming weeks.

Given that the GBA SP retails for $99, I'm speculating that if Nintendo drops prices on the Gamecube, it would be more likely to retail for $129. That would still put them below the PS2 and XBox, but somewhat above their GBA line-up. Who knows what will happen though ... If these rumors become widespread enough, it'll put a serious crimp in the console-makers sales. Which is precisely why they don't pre-announce price drops ...

You're comparing apples to oranges. There's no reason for them to drop the GBA SP price. Nintendo is the sole manufacturer of a popular handeheld gaming device.

No, you're misunderstanding. I'm not saying they're going to drop prices on the GBA (or GBA SP). I'm saying that if the console makers all lower their prices simultaneously, it would make more sense for Nintendo to price the GameCube @ $129. That puts them between the GBA SP @ $99 and the PS2/XBox for $150. Who know though, if we wait a couple of weeks, we'll all find out

Oh. I think they'll probably drop it to $99 to stay very competive. The gamecube's lack of online games and proprietary dics (ie. not a DVD player) hurt it's sales.

I think that's a good deal. You're bound to buy an extra controller anyway and the wavebird is a $30 value. It's better than getting an extra subpar game that CC or BB usually offers.

Has anyone figured out the best deal for the new Zelda bundle yet? And isn't the bundle supposed to include the Ocarina Of Time bonus disc?

I called a few Wal-Marts and Targets this morning. None had the Zelda bundle or knew anything about it. Wal-Mart knew nothing about the free game promotion, but Target did, and said that their Mario Sunshine bundle was eligible for it. I asked if the free Zelda would include the Ocarina Of Time bonus disc, and he said it didn't.

I called a Best Buy and they had the Zelda bundle for $149. I asked if it included the OOT bonus and the guy said "No - only one free game." I didn't have a lot of confidence in his opinion, however. He said the free game promotion was over (wrong) but for $10, you could get MLB Slugfest, Dark alliance, Godzilla and one other which I forgot.

I just called another Best Buy and that guy said they didn't have a Gamecube/Zelda bundle, but they do give away free Zeldas with the purchase of a Gamecube (no OOT bonus). A third Best Buy said the same thing. And I just called a fourth and they said the same thing.

Has anyone actually bought a GC/Zelda bundle? If so, where? And could you then get a free extra game (Metroid, Starfox, Mario Party 4)? And did the bundle come with the OOT bonus disc?

I just called a Software Etc. and they'd never heard of the GC/Zelda bundle either. Did I just dream that there was such a thing?

I saw at least two different stores advertising GC/Zelda bundles today in the newspaper. I think it was Circuit City and Best Buy. Neither showed Ocarina of Time in the picture, though.

I don't believe the inclusion of Zelda in the bundle has been formally set by Nintendo yet. Furthermore, the OOT disc that you get w/ Wind Waker is no more. It was a pre-order special, so you won't find it included for free anymore, that is if they even have any left.

Right, check the Circuit City ad. WW is included as a bundle, just like Metroid Prime and the rest.

I think there is some confusion going on here. Bundle means the game is included with the console, packaged WITH the gamecube. It doesn't refer to the promotion nintendo is holding where you buy a stand-alone console and choose one of four free games. The ads seen today show zelda replaced resident evil 0 as one of the four games (with starfox, mario party 4, and metroid prime as the other three). The OP of this thread indicates windwaker BUNDLE can be found only at walmart (similar the super smash brothers bundle back then found only at target). I've never seen it and most have probably sold out. I don't know if they will continue the bundle package since WW is now included as part of the nintedo promotion. If you do find it at any walmarts, I would see if you can get the extra promotional game with it. YMMV on that.

I think the confusion on bundles is coming from the Fry's ads. They usually hold "bundle packages" where they will include extra games and accessories since they can't sell the consoles under retail. It's different than an actual windwaker bundle packaged by nintendo themselves.

Why aren't the Costco Gamecube Bundles listed under the console section? I think they're at $40 off right now. Is there a way to anchor this thread at the top of the forum so I don't always have to search for it?
