I picked up what looked like the last copy of double dash they had on display this afternoon from the S San Jose BB. Dunno how many they had to start with though.

so you can use one coupon for double dash
one coupon for the wavebird (use the PM instead if you don't minding working for the extra $0.50, since it's 110% the difference)
one coupon for the memory card

I guess you could try PM'ing and using the coupon.

you still pay full frice for pre-orders, minus the deposit.

and what is this instant gift card you mentioned?

the zelda bonus disk is not going to be for sale through retail channels.

How does the $5 Gamer's Gift Card at Best Buy work again? I remember it being mentioned in this thread before, but there are just too many posts to go through. Thanks.

Among the many giftcards that Best Buy offers in their stores is a card that comes in a jewel case and is green in color. The ones in my store have an image of a basketball video game on the cards. Look on the back of the jewel case and you should see a $5 off coupon towards games and accessories.

You can either purchase the gift cards and come back later to use the coupon and giftcard to buy your game or tell the clerk that you have two items you would like to ringup on separate transactions. 1st transaction, buy giftcard. 2nd transaction, use giftcard and coupon towards purchase of game.
The gamer's gift cards at the three BB's near me look NOTHING like you described. They are in a jewel case with a black/silver insert. The card itself is yellow with a picture of a pair of hands holding a gamepad. Coupon printed on the back of the insert, card tackied to the front of the insert.

Just to note, the green one expires 12/03, while the black one expires next year, 12/04.

Here's how my transaction went today

1st transaction:
Purchase 5 gamers gift card things ($5 each, $25 total)

2nd transaction
3 black game controllers ($24.95 * 3 - $30 with the gamers gift cards/gift certificate)
Mario Kart Double Dash ($49.95 - $10 with gamers gift card/gift certificate)
251 Memory Card ($19.95 - $10 with gamers gift card/gift certificate)
free $20 gift card for buying $100 worth of games/accessories

3rd transaction
Platinum Gamecube ($99 - the free $20 gift card I got from 2nd transaction)

Total price for Gamecube, 3 extra controllers, memory card, and mario kart double dash:
~221 and some change

You bought $25 in gamers cards. How you get -$40 in gamers and gift cards in your 2nd transaction?

It's actually -$50, I can explain. The idea is, he put $5 on 5 different gift cards. That is added to the $5 discount from the coupon. Hence, he uses each "gift card + coupon" combo to take off -$10 per use.

yeah what he said. I had 5 coupons for the $5 off 19.95, and I had the 5 gift cards with $5 on each from transaction one.

I was going to point that out! BTW, the Douglassville, GA store said I had to put $20 on each card (Green, '03). Fayetteville, GA said there was no minimum amount (Black/Silver, '04).

They may have misinterpreted the requirements for using the coupon (Which I had no intention of using during that visit). I didn't think of that then, so I didn't ask.

Man, I can hardly wait to play the ol' classics. Now if I can just remember how that stinkin' final dungeon maze in Zelda 2 goes and I'll be set (again!).

I got that too! Never played Zelda 2, but I remember the final dungeon in Zelda 1 being a pain.

Better stock up then! Perhaps someone from your area or the forum would need help in getting one without having to chase it down locally. And I need to check the stores around my area for it too... Any sightings for the metro-Boston area?

The site says through January 2004, I believe. I'd do it now, if I were you. (Actually I did it already!)

I dunno, that's probably the registration offer that expires. Nintendo Power has an offer for just about every Player's Guide ever offered. The offers are usually included in the game (Free guide) or in the back of the NP Player's Guide (Free game promo item). You could call up and ask for every subscription bonus they've ever offered which they still have available and you could pick any one. They simply don't expire because the games and guides are still out there.

if you go to the nintendo store and choose to register for a year of nintend power it'll show you every possible item you can pick for a bonus.. i don't think they'll leave the zelda bonus on their since its supposed to be "limited"

Thanks for the replies. Ah well, I'd better jump on it ASAP. Off to the nintendo store.
