You can set the forum to show threads in descending order...which puts the most recent posts first. Click on the "Customize" link at the top right.

Also...you do realize the deals are compiled in the first post, right?

Yeah, but its kind of hard to pick out the new deals from the old ones, the post is huge.

Thanks for the tip on the descending posts though

The new or recently updated deals are in BOLD on the list. They usually stay BOLD for several days, so folks can easily see what's new.

That price is very compelling...but my previous experiences with playcentric.com have been TERRIBLE!

Wish I had an EB in town I could use as a PM target.
Nearest one is B'ham...sometime local stores here won't PM that far away. :frown:

The $50 price drop rumor has been circulating since the week before Thanksgiving, but there has not been any additional information since that time. I don't really think that they need to drop the price any further for another year, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does drop by summer.

The original rumor was that it would happen between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Obviously, it didn't...and sales of Xbox were QUITE brisk this holiday!
I haven't heard anything substantial since then.

Ummm..except for this (from IGN):
We've Got Next
Name of the next iteration of Xbox revealed?

January 02, 2003 - According to a The Hollywood Reporter, the name of Xbox 2 will, in fact, be called Xbox Next. Though sources for this information were not cited, the domain xboxnext.com has been registered by Microsoft.

The report went on to say Microsoft planned to release Xbox Next before the Sony released PS3 in 2005 and that it would include UltimateTV technology to allow for digital recording and TV web surfing.

However, it's been long believed that a ReplayTV and web-browsing applications would be add-ons released within the next two years for the current version of Xbox.

The article also claimed that a smaller, lighter version of the Xbox may be released in 2003 for between $130-150.
Take that for what it is worth.

I truly hate hard-assed management pricks that think it is their mission to protect the corporation from customers who try to make use of their official policies to save some money.

I went to Best Buy to pricematch the Buffy that I bought for $24.99 5 days ago. Told him the EB price and he went and called. He comes back and says the local store said it was $50 and does not have it in stock. I said that was wrong, please call this other store that I already called to verify the price and in stock status. He said they are all the same and the price would be the same. I said no it won't please call. So he calls and they have it in stock and it is $9.99. So he tells his manager, then comes over and tells me that they will not pricematch. I ask for the manager. He says the stores gave him different prices so he will NOT pricematch without WRITTEN verification of the price and WRITTEN verification that it is in stock. I tried to reason with him and he just acted like a prick.

So I drove 15 miles to the other Best Buy, got the pricematch and applied a $5 coupon to my purchase of MGS2 bringing it down to $14.99. This store did the pricematch without even calling EB and just accepting my word. How novel.

Why is it that some retail management forget that their primary job function is customer service?

I love my local Circuit City. I went in there and bought Buffy for $29.99, turned around and went up to the CS counter. I know every employee there..... He looks and me and laughs, and asks who has it cheaper. I told him EB has it for $9.99, and he doesn't even blink an eye and pricematches it for me, $7.99. He never even bothered to call and verify the information. He knows that I have already done thaT...

I went to EB Games while at the mall tonight and had to ask if they had Buffy in stock since I did not see it in the new game section. The guy had one left and remarked "I guess word has gotten out". He had sold quite a few today and had been getting calls. Two other stores I had called earlier just told me that they were sold out when I asked about the Buffy price.

Went to 4 EBs looking for MGS2 and finally got it (for $19.99 - yay!). Anyhow, found out some other $9.99 titles. Dunno if they have been mentioned or not, but here goes:

Buffy tVS (of course), Terminator: DoF (ditto), New Legends, Legends of Wrestling (the first one), Bruce Lee, WWF Raw, Triple Play 2002 (or 2003, last year's version... hate that lame numbering system), and Live 2002 (or 2003, not this year's, but last year's).

I think that's all of them. Funny, I asked at each one which other ones were $9.99 and I got different answers (mostly) at each.

Worst Buy svcks!!! I consider having to deal with them at all as a necessary evil at best. :|

It depends, I get a brand new sealed copy from the back somewhere. But one time when I was buying a DC game, they said that I had the last case in my hand and my new copy had the discs taken out so a new case could be displayed. The discs looked new so I didn't care. If getting a sealed copy is important to you, ask them for one, they might have a sealed copy in the back or PM elsewhere.

BestBuy sucks at pricematching. I went yesterday to pricematch Buffy, because I had store credit for BB, and it was a real hassle. First it took forever, then the lady didn't want to give me the extra 10% difference because I needed to buy the game, then come back with the cheaper price(which then I explained to her that I could just buy the game, walk out the store, then walk back in, and I told her it would be a waste of both our times). After spending 10 minutes gasping at the price, and trying to figure out what to do, she finally gave the game to me for $8.99+tax (overcharging a dollar). I just said screw it, because the movie I wanted to go see was about to start.

BB sucks and CC is the best. Last time I was at CC, the guy PMed me a black friday reciept for a GBA even though it was 3 weeks old(and there was no hassle)!! Way cool!!
