Yes, really good,a lot like goldeneye. My only complaint is that it was too short

Deathrow: $29.99 at EBGames (store at least) - got it today. Sticker had $49.99 crossed out to 29.99. Not sure if those type of markdowns are store-specific or nationwide, but great price on a great game.
Buffy: $19.99 at Costco. I mentioned this in the previous thread, but it never made its way to the offical 'list' in the first post of this thread.
NFL Blitz 2003: $19.99 at Costco.

Yeah, I have an official US 'S' controller, and one of the initial Japanese 'S' controllers, imported from NCSX.com and I definitely prefer the Japanese version to the US one cuz of the buttons (the triggers also have a slightly different feel to them, the US version is a little more stiff I think).

I think the arms on the Japanese S are thinner and not as "full" as the US version. I like the overrall feel of the Japanese S better as well, but I'm still lobbying for something in-between...maybe an "American M" version (medium ).

I picked up one of the refurb xbox's that came with the original controller, and I've got to say I'm pretty happy with it. Now when I go back to my ps2, the controller feels small and cramped, sort of like trying to "write" with a pda stylus.

Am I the only one who likes the big controller?

I like the shape of the big one better, but the buttons, sticks, D-pad and triggers on the S versions feel better to me. Yes, my hands get cramped all the time with the S, which is why I would like something inbetween. I would use the big controller more, but I like the button placement of the newer ones, especially in some of the newer games that use them for pretty key functions.

Btw, I finally bought Halo today heheh. Been holding out too long, but $33 (PM to CUSA + $5 Gamer card) sealed the deal for me.

2nd order of business: are you sure the compusa add is saying 10 off any xbox game? the way i read it, you get 12 off ghost recon w/ purchase of xbox live, or 10 off any other game if u purchase it w/ xbox live... i could be wrong, though... i sure hope i am

I dont know, but when I went to CompUSA to get NHL 2K3, the signs said "$10 off any Xbox game regularly priced at $49.99" ... Notably, they priced Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at $49.50 so it wouldn't work for the discount. When I went to ring up NHL 2K3 they did not have it marked appropriately, but the cashier was able to change the price at the register to $39.99 (I had the flyer with me and showed it to him and he agreed, saying that they did not always mark down all of the appropriate games) ... BTW- Nightfire is a fun game I rented it and had fun playing it ... NHL 2K3 is a blast too!

althought its alittle off topic, try timesplitters 2 before buying nightfire, has alot more in common with goldeneye gameplay wise ( some people who developed it was with rare when GE was made) and it is alot better then nightfire in my own opinion.

Which deal is best for people who plan to buy an X-Box? ...was thinking the Cosco one:

Xbox Sega bundle, 2nd S controller, DVD Playback kit - Costco.com - $239.99 (posted 12-05-02)

Not sure I need the DVD Playback, but might in the future

Also, I hear NFL Fever or something like that is better than Madden...any thoughts as to the best F-Ball game for the X-Box?

I would prolly do the Buy.com deal with the $20 off $200 for new customers.
That would make the Xbox $179.99 with no tax and free shipping.
You can score another S controller (Japanese model) for either $24.99 or $19.99 at BB with a $5 off GG coupon.
Then, watch for another big sale on the DVD kit (it's been as low as $14.99).

If you want Live support, then Fever or Sega's NFL2K3 are your only options right now. Madden does not support Live (thanks EA...ya asshats! :|)

BTW: Might also wanna think about Best Buy, since they are right now offering a coupon book good for over $175 off Xbox games and related accessories with the purchase of a new Xbox.

I have never played NFL Fever 2003, so I cannot comment on that. The majority of reviews I've seen have tabbed either Madden or NFL 2K3 as the best of this year's series, so I didn't bother with NFL Fever. I really enjoyed NFL 2k/2k1 for Dreamcast, so I picked up 2k3 for the Xbox. The graphics are quite nice, and the animations are the best... but the gameplay has some serious flaws. For example, if your receiver is hit right after he catches the ball, the vast majority of the time (75%+), he will drop it. When playing two players, it's hard to NOT see what play your opponent is running because your and your opponent's playcalling screens overlap. Out patterns work the vast majority of the time -- the DB's never learn how to cover it. In franchise mode, simulated game scores are ridiculously high. These are just some of the problems I found, and I have had the game for less than a month.

I just purchased Madden last Friday. If you are (or anyone is) interested in buying my NFL 2k3 before I put it up on ebay, let me know.

$10 GC instantly with Panzer Dragoon Orta @ $49.99
Anyone know how this works on the web? It's available, but the site is very vague. Do you basically get a GC that works at the website? Or do you get an actual card that has to be used at the B&M store?

go to ur local BB and hit the 'reset' button on their xbox display... you should get the option to try out all 3 NFL games (all 3 are playable demo versions). I like each one for different reasons... Madden has great gameplay and ok grafix, Fever has kick ass grafix and pretty good gameplay and NFL2k3 has nice grafix and ok gameplay... I think Fever is the overall winner, with Madden and NFL2k3 tied for second place. But thats just my opinion

Tomorrow I'm going to BB, getting myself an xbox and then heading over to blockbuster and renting a crap load of games so i can decide which i want to buy. I hope there are some good deals in that coupon book

anyone try that $10 controller from CompUSA yet? After extended testing, both the normal and the S controllers give my hands cramps (Normal hurts my left hand, S hurts my right).

You may want to get that from EB since EB is offering the game at $29.99 and they are offering a $20 EB gift coupon by mail for BloodRayne
Thanks, but after reading some reviews and replaying the demo last night, I'm gonna take it back. While some stuff is very cool (hot chick, no-limit bullet time, lots of blood), other details are really rough (funky controls, clipping issues, so-so graphics) and even with the rebate, I'd rather play Buffy or hang out at goth clubs instead.

Thanks for the tip, though.

Yeah, I have my copy still in its shrink wrapping right here. I think I'm also going to return it, I just don't have the time to play 2nd tier games (even in they are $9.99) when I still haven't finished Metroid Prime, Halo, Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Sunshine, Gun Valkyrie, Splinter Cell, MGS Substance and I have this current urge to play through Shenmue II again (Have you gotten the duck races before? That game is a masterpiece!). I'm also returning Serious Sam for the same reason.
