Was in best buy, tried to price match buffy to EB.....they wanted to make me wait in the customer service line for them to call and check (the line was too the door). The manager who came to the register was "too busy" to make a 2 minute phone call.

Instead, I went to EB, bought buffy there, and while I was at it, picked up metal gear solid (still at 19.99)

Went to my local EB Games today and the guy had to go in the back to find the flyer with the Serious Sam coupon. This is a one page flyer for January Winter Sale. Dates are 1/5/03 - 1/31/03. The Serious Sam coupon is one of many coupons of interest.

Another good deal from the flyer. Bloodrayne is currently selling for $29.99, the flyer had a mail in coupon for a $20 Gift Voucher for Bloodrayne. This is good on any console version.

Dasm, you beat me to it. I was going to post the Bloodrayne coupon as well. I did pick Serious Sam for $9.99, and New Legends as well. I was going to get Terminator, but the guys there said the game isin't even worth $.50, so I passed.......

The guy at my EB actually talked me into getting Terminator. It still has the shrinkwrap on it so I may have to read a review or two before I open it.
EDIT: After reading reviews I believe I may exchange it towards Bloodrayne.

I scored Buffy tonight @ BB about 5 minutes before closing. The cute little girl working the CS department called for us, no prob.

No prob, that is, until the asshat at EB said Serious Sam and Terminator were $29.99 each :|
They did confirm Buffy tho...so got the best of the 3 for $7.99 & tax ($8.5x out the door).

My buddy who was with me NEVER PMs or Hot Deals...he just pays retail.
You should have seen his eyes bug out of his head.
The CS girl agreed to PM for him too, and he took off running to get himself a copy.

As we were leaving, the guy at the door checking receipt did a double-take and said "MAN!!! How'd you manage to score THAT!?!?!"
LOVE IT when PMs are successful.

BTW: The EB didn't have the January coupon sheet out AT ALL, even tho it started today. HATE the B'ham Galleria EB. :frown:

BB is selling serious sam for $20 also, there shouldn't be any price match invloved (even though the one by me still has the price tag showing as $50). I bought it before christmas.

Well, my receipt from Eb shows Serious Sam for $9.99, and below that it explains that there is a coupon invovled, but they might buy it for a pricematch......

Ok, just played metal gear for an hour or so, don't really like it. If anyone wants it that can't find it by them, I'll ship it to you for the $21 I paid for it. If anyones interested, let me know.

Picked up buffy at Eb yesterday and it is a pretty great game, well worth the $10. Monroeville, PA had plenty as the clerk about fell over when i asked him to scan it to see if it was $9.99. Keep those great deals coming!!

For those getting Serious Sam, just make sure the serial number on the barcode ends with "05" and not "03". The ones with "03" are all defective. I'm not sure that if they don't end in 03 or 05 if it will still work fine, but you can try it I guess. And this is true, IGN posted the message from the game developers a bit ago, but I can't find the link.

It's not an action game, you will be annoyed by the control in the first hour if you're too accustomed to first person shooting game. It involves more puzzle solving and strategy, so take some time and you'll find it's a great game.
After you get familiar with the controls, try the VR missions, they're full of fun.

I have heard that there are cordless controllers but can't seem to find any. Do you guys know of any and how well they work? Thanks.

I have the Pelican one and I like it quite a bit. ONE DRAWBACK -- this thing eats batteries like crazy!!! Played SC yesterday for about 4 hours straight and had to change batteries once and the second set was near death when I finished.

The Logitech (newly released and supposedly available at CC) is supposed to be excellent. None of them however will allow for the connection of the headset for XBL. You must hook this up at the base.

The Pelican Wireless controller is available at bestbuy.com

Boy, do I love AT-HD and this thread!

As I posted above, I bought Buffy about a week before for $25 and thought it was a great deal, so I went to EBW and looked around to see if they had any more copies. (I figured at worst, I'd buy a new copy and then have my girlfriend - who was at Target at the time - return it with my old receipt.) I axed the clerk if they had any copies and he disappears into the back and returned with the box and said, "This must be the last one."

When I axed him to scan it, he did and gave me this look of surprise and said, "Are you ready for this? $10. Wow, I thought I got a good deal at $25." I told him likewise and axed if they'd PM and he asked if I had the receipt - BAM! - and he happily fixed me up right.

(I saw him handing the game to a co-worker and saying, "Hey, this is only $10 and it's a cool game. Pick it up.")

As for the MGS2:S - After playing Splinter Cell, I'm chafing at the fixed (and generally poor) camera views (no control either!) and weapons handling. The control buttons are goofy and nowhere in the manual does it explain that you can do pullups - something I discovered looking at a strategy manual at the bookstore.

Target has 3 games on sale for $34.99 each:

007: Nightfire
Dead to Rights
Hitman 2

Nightfire is a great FPS. Much better then "007 Agent Under Fire".
Use Circuit City's 110% price match to save even more.

I'd just like to add to this, its much, MUCH better. Closest to goldeneye of any of these new bond games. Only problem is its kind of short.

I am having some of the same "lack of passion" for this game as I did for MSG2:SOL. Maybe Splinter Cell does overhadow it for me, but really the control scheme just puts me off. I'm going to give this game a try a little longer and if I don't like it, my bro-in-law has a b-day coming soon.

I too, don't really like the game. I played for a good 45 mins, I will give it a little more time. But I didn't like how it throws you in there without any guidance at all on really how to play.

I beat JSRF today!

The best seems to be the Logitech one, but to get them are your best chances are online since they sellout pretty quick.

I saw this today too when I was in Target. They didnt have any in stock, so they were offering Rain Checks for all 3 if you wanted. I picked-up some rain checks in case I decided to buy the game later.

I also bought Madden 2003 while I was in there for $40, but I figure I'll return it and get Sega NFL 2K3 for $19.99 from CC so I can save $20 and play it on Live.
