I wish they had a Target in south western CT... I'd love to pick up Sega Soccer Slam and Time Splitters 2 for ~$35.

Go in to BB, go find the GREEN CD case that has a GIFT CARD in it. It should have a little sticker thay says "$5 off game or accessory purchase", (in the lower left hand corner) Go to the counter and say you want to put $5 on it. Then leave and come back later (with CD and CASE) and get a game or accessory and go to the front and buy it. You will get $10 off, $5 for the $5 you put on it, and $5 for the coupon.

Fallout Confirmed At Last

It was a few months ago that we first reported that a poll on Interplay?s Website had brought forth word that Fallout could be heading to consoles. Moving ahead to just a few weeks ago, we once again brought forth more evidence, this time coming via retail listings. Today, Vivendi Universal Games and Interplay have officially announced that the PC series will be making its way to the Xbox and PlayStation 2 with, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. Slated for release this Fall, Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. In the game, players fight to prevent the remainder of the human race from being turned into mutants. The game will have melee and long-range weapons, and 1-2 player support.

Some first-hand experience with the Circuit City three-for-two deal (see first page)

I went to the CC between 79th and 80th, on Broadway, in NYC. I was hoping to pick-up Amped and Project Gotham Racing (PGR), both Platinum Hits, and a third PH for free. All told, three games for $40, not bad. This is their advertised deal, as stated on the front page: buy two PH games, get a third free.

So, I find a copy of Amped in the PH packaging, but very few others. I ask for help. The floor guy checks with a manager and shows me a separate shelf in another part of the store with only PH games. The selection stinks -- Simpson's Road Rage and Baron-something-or-other dominate this small shelf.

Being the smart shopper places like ATHD has taught me to be, I ask if I could get PGR in the *original packaging*, but still get the PH deal. The dude checks with a manager who gives the big N-O. I wasn't willing to take no for answer. So, I found my way to the Customer Service desk. They checked the regular-packaging PGR's UPC in the computer against the deal, and what do you know? the deal is on! So, I called friend to see which other games were on the PH list. As it turns out, there were several on the shelves in the original packaging (not PH packaging is what I mean) but work for the deal.

The moral of the story is: do your research ahead of time (i.e. bring a list of all PH games), be ready to go to the CS desk if necessary, and take advantage of this nice deal!
