Not as hot...I finally decided to go by CC this afternoon to PM the Toysrus NFL2K3 for $9.99. The guy called TRU, and they said they had it for $14.99. Price is still listed as $9.99 online, but CC guy would only PM the $14.99. Still a good deal, I guess, but I'm going by TRU tomorrow to check this...

I scored Mechassault at Blockbuster for $19.99. Awesome deal.

If anybody is interested, it was the Blockbuster in Palm Bay, FL on Malabar Rd. and they had about 3 left.

As I was picking up some stuff at the local EB here in Rocky Mount NC, I saw the clerk stick on a bunch of yellow stickers to Xbox games reducing their price.

Someone may want to go to EB and follow up on this.

Sorry to be so vague but I was in a rush and did not see the names of the games he was reducing prices on.

I just picked up one at a Blockbuster in Rocky Mount NC. They still had plenty left.

I wanted to add that the clerks were in disbelief that the new copies of this game was cheaper than their used. When you call the Blockbusters be specific and tell them to SCAN a new copy and tell you the price.

I just went to Blockbuster and got MechAssault Brand New for $19.99!!!

I thought they were selling a used copy but they have the new copies behind the counter. Just ask them for the sealed copies.

They also have:

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee $9.99 at Blockbuster

Are these prices valid at Wal-Mart B&Ms too?

Not at my local Wal-Mart. =( The woman in the Electronics department that I had scan them for me wasn't very nice about it either. It's possible that the price change just hasn't made it to the stores yet though.

If you are going to order them off the web, you might have though that the `xbox power pack' that includes both games would be a deal, but it isn't. It's the same price as buying the games separately, but they screw you on shipping for about an extra $2. Just buy them separately.

Some will and some wont. It depends on who you talk to and what CSR you get.

HUGE NEWS!!!!

Just announced info about a FREE USB keyboard adapter offer with the purchase of PSO for Xbox until December 31, 2004!

From TeamXbox.net
PSO USB Keyboard Adapter for Free
By Horus
04.11.2003 @ 08:07 PM

After receiving our copy of Phantasy Star Online today, we were pleasantly surprised to find a flyer that specifies details to a Phantasy Star Online USB keyboard adapter.

Here are the details directly from the flyer:

The Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II USB Keyboard Adapter for your Xbox system is available for free plus shipping and handling ($6.95USD) at http://www.xbox.com/pso2/keyboardadapter.htm.

The Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II USB Keyboard Adapter for Xbox allows you to connect a USB-enabled keyboard to an Xbox Controller. It is for use exclusively with Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II on the Xbox video game system from Microsoft.

Available in the 50 United States, DC and Canada only.

Offer expires 12/31/2004

The link on the Xbox.com website isn't active as of yet, but look for it after the games release early next week.

So it looks like the Xbox version will most definitely be the best version available with both voice and keyboard support on Xbox Live.

Look for a full review soon.
WOW!!!

Hopefully other developers will take advantage of this peripheral.
And maybe, just maybe, MS will decide to allow it to be used on, say...the Dashboard!

I really gotta stay out of this thread. I haven't even had my Xbox for a month yet and I've already got ten games. Best part is, I've only payed an average of $15.15 for them, not including the three free ones.

Hmm would be nice for a mouse add on as well.

I wish they would get some RTS games. Age of Empires II, C&C, anything, as well as flight sims, there is only 2 and one you cant buy in stores and the other supposedly sucks (fireblade).

Got this e-mail regarding Steel Battalion (I signed up for direct order through Capcom some time ago...back in January I believe):

This email is to you inform you that you have been selected among 1,500
entries to order a copy of Steel Battalion directly from Capcom. The
selection was based on the time/date stamp on the email request we
received from you. We have allocated 7 additional units to the waiting
list from which you were selected. You must respond to this message via
email by Friday, April 18, 2003 at 5:00pm PST (Pacific Standard Time)
in
order to claim your copy. If you do not respond by the deadline, your
request for a copy of Steel Battalion will no longer be valid.
Once you have confirmed your interest in purchasing a copy, we will
provide you with instructions via email on how to complete your order
for Steel Battalion.

Anyone here own it? Think its worth it? Just glanced through this thread and saw that Live support will be forthcoming, but $200 on a game and a joystick that may never support another game seem pretty steep. Why is so hard for me to justify spending money on consoles when I consider it a drop in the bucket for PC components.

The BBV behind me has 2/3rds of their NEW games priced at $19.99 - mostly sports titles, but I remember MGS2 and BMX XXX being there. A few other games are $29.99 and a couple were still $49.99. Most of the good titles like MK: DA and MechWarrior are no longer there, so I wonder if they're ditching new game sales.

While you're checking out your local stores, take advantage of their current sale on pre-viewed DVDs for $9.99 ea. I saw "8 Mile" among others. Watch out - many BBV titles are full-screen hack jobs, so if you've got a Hollywood Video nearby, take advantage of their 2-for-$20 sale - nearly everything is OAR (original aspect ratio).
