Does anyone know if any store is having a sale on the Platinum hits for $15 this week? I just got the Live! V3 with the Mech Assault and apparently this game won't load the Live dashboard on my XBOX. So after 2 calls to tech support, they basically sugested to go out and buy or rent another Live game. I was thinking if I could buy Ghost Recon or Unreal Tourney for $15, that'd be the way to go as opposed to renting.

Im not seeing any discounts on accessories and I can't find any. Does Microsoft FORCE everyone to sell the Advanced AV pack for 19.99 and extra controllers for 29.99? I cant find any discounted places online either. Anyone have any ideas? My only luck was at buy.com the AV pack is $3 off, but they charge shipping and are out for several WEEKS!

I got the Microsoft AV Pack for $15.00. Get a gamer's gift card and use the $5 coupon

First of all BOOOOOOOO! to AnandTech for losing my original login stuff. And second BOOOOOOOOO! to AnandTech for making it such a pain to register by blocking my hotmail and yahoo junkmail accounts (had to use a real one I don't like to give out really). Anyways, on to a semi-hot deal. If you're a retailer and do the Microsoft Training, Counter-Strike has been added to the list of prizes. I just went through all the training this weekend since I now work at Best Buy and got 8 games (Voodoo Vince, Counter-Strike, Top Spin, Amped 2, Links 2004, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Fuzion Frenzy, and Oddworld: Munch's Oddesy) for under $40 shipped. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS IF YOU CAN!!!!!

Rainbow 6 3 seems to be getting better reviews thatn Counterstriek. As for pd orta, if you can find it at bestbuy it's only $10 there.

Counter-Strike is only "good" for online play.

There is NO multiplayer in the game. You cannot play CS split screen with a friend. There is no single player. Their "single player" consists of dumb bots running around.

I saw a thread about it at FW, can't find one here. It's quite a bit of work and can take a while for the system to actually ship to you, but if you don't mind the wait or the work a system can be had for cheap.

Here's the premise of how it works: www.freevideogames.com has a bunch of referral links to services, clubs, etc. Each time you click a referall link and fulfill the requirement (usually signing up and paying no more than a few dollars for a trial subscription), you are rewarded with points. Once you accrue enough points you can redeem them for various items, such as video games and console systems.

The kicker is that while most things are cheap to sign up for, they require a credit card so you have to be sure to cancel before the trial period ends and they start billing you for normal use/membership. You can easily have one to two dozen things to keep track of, so good record keeping is a must.

While some of the sites you may sign up with or buy from may be shady at the least, www.freevideogames.com itself is fine and fulfills all orders.

Went to blockbuster tonight, was really surprised to see a Controller S, marked with two price stickers, first 24.99, then 4.99. Brought it up to the register, rang up for the 4.99 price, no hassles. Friend also bought one, didn't check the store to see if there were anymore. This was at the store in East Windsor, NJ.

Walked through BB again when I returned my movies, all the controller S were marked 29.99, and it came up like that when I had the cashier check the price. Guess it was just a fluke.
