There's also mention of a clearance on Steel Battalion for $99.99 at Sam Goody (YMMV). My local stores never had one, I'd happily reimburse if anyone can find it for me PM.

yeah, sometimes it will work, its worth a shot. even if you don't get to use the coupon this isn't a bad deal for 37.50 or whatever it comes to after the pricematch.

I want to use a headset with my Xbox in order to hear the director's audio in my ear in the game "Manhunt". I don't have an Xbox Live kit because I am stuck on crappy dial-up.

What can I buy in order to use a headset with this game and spend the least amount of money (as opposed to a $40 Xbox live kit)??

Also - anybody know of any good deals on "Chronicles of Riddick" yet??

Nikamichi has noted some options for the earpiece, but I think they still need the adapter that plugs into the controller. You can get just the headset for $30 new, or maybe $20 on eBay.

Alternatively you could find a deal on the starter kit, keep the headset, and sell the subscription card and or game.

Last resort, I actually have 3 headsets (from starter kits) and was planning to auction one off. PM if you want it for $20 +ship.

Thanks for the quick replies! Yeah, I actually have several headsets and headphones already. I guess what I meant to say was that I needed the adapter that plugs into the controller, as Oceanus points out. Without the adapter, the headsets are useless.

So, what I am saying is I need a good deal on the adapter which plugs into the controller which then allows you to plug headsets into the game. It is called the "Xbox Communicator" I think.

Anybody know of where you can just buy the adapter separately? I can find the complete kit for $24.99 at Sam's Club. Would be nice to just buy the adapter as I don't need the headset.

The only reliable place that I've seen that carries the communicator is Lik Sang, but they're outta stock. If you really need the adapter now, I'd have to say get the kit at Sam's Club and don't look back.

I don't think legally importing it is a problem. But a UK Xbox would be PAL and wouldn't work on your TV
