According to a person who claims to work for Microsoft in another forum (my brother's friend's sister's cousin) you can't combine the sega bundle with the free dvd kit.

Take that for what it's worth though. Although, Gamestop is selling the bundle now and has a package that includes the DVD kit without mention of the free DVD kit rebate.

If that doesn't make any sense I blame it on my lack of sufficient coffee intake.

Look on the bottom of the XBOX it states serial#, manufactured date and location.

The new bundle not qualifying for the DVD rebate would make sense. This items have different UPC numbers and the rebate center is most likely only looking for certain UPCs.

The UPC on my new XBox bundle is 05529-17904. It certainly doesn't look like anything on the DVD kit rebate form. I'm going to call the rebate number tomorrow to try to get the real scoop.

I tried to do the same thing, but was told that the $30 DVD Kit rebate only applied to the original XBOX and Refurbished XBOX (there was 2 model numbers on the back of the rebate form) and that I would not get the rebate. Also, I wasn't convinced that the $50 rebate for purchasing 2 games and a perf was going to be valid on the Sega bundle, but the clerk believed it would be.

Can anyone confirm this?

It would be even better if other games (like Mech Assault, flight sims, etc.) released updates that would allow them to use the Steel Battalion Controller.

Here is a pic of the rebate form with the Sega XBOX clearly shown on the form. I'm not 100% sure that the DVD rebate will work but the manager at the store said it would. He read an e mail to me that seemed to state that it would.
