I called Microsoft Rebate center on the rebate form and they said the rebate is not valid for the Xbox Sega Bundle. Only the original Xbox's. They said the SKU F2300107 is not part of the offer. I wonder if Funco, Babbages, Software Etc has their own rebate?

As dealmaker posted, the official word is that the DVD kit rebate is not valid with the Sega bundle. I spoke to Michelle this morning at the Microsoft Rebate Center, and she informed me that the only two valid SKUs for the DVD rebate are F2300061 (the original XBox) and FKUH1200001 (refurbished XBox). The new Sega bundle SKU is F2300107.

In any case the Gamestop rebate is still a pretty hot deal, since most people buying an XBox will want to pick up a second controller and/or some type of AV pack anyway.

Cool, I just got my Live! Beta Kit today, it works pretty well except my NFL Fever 2003 disc doesnt boot all of the time (this is a known problem with the beta discs) ... Whacked! and MotoGP worked fine though and the voice communicator is a lot cooler than I thought it would be ... Can't wait for Unreal Championship!!!

Just successfully ordered the Xbox Live Beta Kit!!!!

Had heard reports that some folks are getting "no permission" messages when trying to order.
I also saw those errors.

Then I checked my Xbox.com profile and realized I hadn't registered my Xbox's serial number (I created a profile on the site LONG before I had an Xbox).
Once I completed that, within 5 minutes I was able to order.

Coincidence? Maybe.
Do I care? No.

My cost for the Beta kit:
$49.99 (kit) + $4 (tax :frown: ) + $8.79 (2-day UPS shipping) = $62.78

FYI: 2-day shipping is only $2 more than 3-day, but is $11 cheaper than overnight

YMMV for Target deals as always, but I got JSRF and Rallisport for 12.48 each. With the DVD rebate, I don't feel so bad about not getting the new Sega bundle by buying two weeks early.

Got the Sunday paper this morning and forgot to post the X-Box deals from the flyers:

Valid for this week only 10/20 through 10/26:

BestBuy: Buy the new X-Box Sega Bundle and receive 25% off any X-Box accessory instantly, NFL Fever 2003 is also advertised at 29.99 (with Blinx and Whacked at $49.99)

Circuit City didn't have anything except the Sega Bundle priced normally.

Target: Buy the new X-Box Sega Bundle and Receive a free additional controller with purchase (looks like its a Madcatz 3rd Party controller from the picture), also Terminator: Dawn of Fate is on sale for $44.99 and Blinx is $49.99

Thats all that I noticed for X-Box deals!

CompUSA In Store specials (printable on their website) is showing Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (all platforms) for $39.99.
You have to print out the ad to get the discounted prices.

If you buy a Gamer's Gift Card, there is a coupon attached good for $5 off any video game or video game accessory $19.99 or more.

The card comes in a jewel case and can be filled with however much you wanna put on it.

Damn target!!1 I just bought one 4 days ago! Well today I went back to target and returned my xbox and bought another one to get the free controller! Thansk for the tip on target!

Well it looks like everyone is pretty sure that the XBOX Sega gaming bundle doesn't qualify for the $30 DVD rebate, which sucks. I think I'll take my xbox back to EB and pick it up from Target to get the free controller. That way at least one of the accessories I need is free, and I don't have to wait for a rebate!

I been to 4 best buy stores between home and work in the NY/NJ area and they all have these available. They are in Jewel cases with a card stuck to the back sleeve. In the back of the jewel cases, there is the $5 off coupon.

Anybody have more information on the controller deal at target the week starting Oct 20th? I bought my XBOX (at target...hmph) on the 19th, but they were out of controllers, so I wound up buying an extra controller at Walmart. If the control in this deal is an M$ one, I would attempt to get target to pricematch and give me the extra controller--if it's third party, its not worth the trouble.

Also, when I was in Target they had
WWF RAW for 24.95
and Rallisport for 24.95 on the clearence rack...They were both marked at thrity five, but I took them over to the bar-code scanner pilar and they both rang up at 24.95--I didn't buy either however...YMMV

Ah, thanks...not worth the trouble then. (And just for the record, for those of you who helped in the Off Topic post last week--thanks, I love my XBOX so far...especially JSRF--you can't get that type of experience on a PC these days)
