I took-up Electronic Boutique on their PS2 for XBOX trade-in offer. Along with this offer, was the one for an additional $5 for non-excluded games when I traded in over 10 games. I walked away with these items for a grand total of $5.38 out of my pocket:

The only place worse than my local Target for Xbox stuff is the local TRU. They are HORRIBLE. They don't even try to sell Xbox stuff. They haven't had a display console installed for MONTHS. :|

They STILL have not heard of the Splinter Cell promo (demos w/ $5 off coupons). Aren't taking pre-orders either. Idiots. :|

Can anyone please confirm that the DVD kit rebate still works. I had a guy at Best Buy tell me that it expired, and I didn't see any DVD kits with the stickers that say the rebate got extended. I just bought a Game Cube this week, and I really feel like getting an X-box at KB toys now with the $20 Gift Coupon deal and all the nice games coming out for it.

Why doesn't this guy get elite member for all the work he's doing? Many of the elites around here seem to attain it just for having the correct gender. I understand it gets the girls coming back so it will keep the guys coming back so I guess that's good enough.

this is the post that I was able to confirm at an EB the other day. The on-box sticker is the most important item, it seems:

Just bought the JSRF/Sega GT2002 package. On the package there is a sticker for the dvd remote rebate. At least with this sticker, the rebate has been extended.

"(original offer end date of 11/02/02 has been extended to 11/30/02)"

I don't know if this means you can get it without the rebate on the box (as the form is right on the box) though. I would just make sure you get the sticker.

Need to update some of the front page, cuz Halo went off sale as of Sunday.

BTW: I broke down and got an X-Box last night, cuz Media Play was having a "VIP Reply Night" in which my g/f got 5000 points if she referred me, plus they were giving TRIPLE points for purchases. So, I signed up ($10) which automatically earned my a $5 gift cert. (to be mailed). Then I found a coupon lying around that gave 3000 bonus points for any console (XB, PS2, GC) purchase and buying a Pepsi was worth 1000 points.

The Replay Rewards pay out at a rate of $5 per 10,000 points and points accrue at one per penny spent, so $10.00 equals 1000 points. With triple points, I got 60,000:Q for the unit itself, plus the points for the coupon and Pepsi, so I've got at LEAST 64,000 points in the bag, meaning $30 in Rewards are coming in addition to the $5 for signing up.

Oh yeah, I had a $50 gift card, so my out-the-door expenditure was a bit over $173 and with the Rewards, my effective bottom line is $138! BAM!!!

Now, someone find me some good deals!!!

Edit: Also, has anyone tried NFL 2K3 on XBox Live? $29.99 for the game is very tempting this week.

This week, MechAssault and Unreal Championship. Also have played NFL 2k3 online since August and it has played perfect (same goes for NBA 2k3).

Thanks for the reminder. And that is why the dates and expirations (if possible) are posted...to help cut down on maintenance just a tad. Tough to update the list when you're huddled in your basement all evening.

I'm also ALL ABOUT Splinter Cell right now. Altho that is not a Live-enabled game (it is true that a WAD of extra content will be made available to Xbox Live subscribers, and other content will be included on an upcoming OXM disc), it plays hella sweet!

MechAssault and Unreal Championship are definitely on my "want" list for X-Box Live ... I've read quite a few reviews for MechAssault and all of them have been positive so far. I really want both, but I don't know if I can swallow the $100 for both games... Perhaps if I receive my WD rebates then I will

Successfully paid for my pre-order copy of MechAssault this evening at EB by taking advantage of their "Trade 2, get 1 new for $10" deal.

NASCAR Heat 2002 (my pop will be disappointed the next time he visits tho )

Got the EB dude to take Gran Turismo and Masters of Teras Kasi for PS1 (don't get freaky on me...I used to play them on my PC using bleem!) for the remaining $10.
