Gamestop has ten dollars off XBL and an XBL compatible game. Don't know if this works at the B&Ms though...

The Gamer Giftcards are running low in some stores. These are gift cards that are put in the same area as the games in a jewel case. The $5 coupon is on the of the cardboard that holds the giftcard. The ones I have seen have a holographic image of a basketball game.

I was thinking about the gamestop deal. $50 off after spending how much more on games and an accessory? What does that come out to as a savings if you have to pay sales tax? Isn't it just tax rebate?

Also I think it should be added to the top of the thread that the xbox does not need a memory card. That makes it net cost much less than the ps 2 uppon initial purchace.

with gamestop u have to spend at least $120 (2 x $49 games + 1 x $19.99 accessory) wheras bestbuy has a $30 giftcard for just buying the sstem

also you need a memory card with xbox to transport games around

you dont need it in the same veign as on the ps2 or GC

I think the Halo for $25 at Best Buy is going to get a lot of attention. I know I'm going to pick it up! Or, if you want, get it for $25 then take it back to Freddy's still shrink-wrapped and exchange it for another game...

target has a black friday xbox deal? the only thing i know of for target is the free controller and id rather have a $30 gift card

It's not fraud. Freddy's is Fred Meyers, they will exchange any shrink-wrapped product for a different product or in-store credit. Doesn't matter if it's from another store or not. They actually do not lose any money if you do it as they resell the game at their price. This is common practice... Especially with gifts.

I know its definately on the web site and im pretty sure the majority of stores have it as well. How long will the sale run though ? I dont know.

Don't do the instant, order online and pick it up get $30 MIR + 20% back from MSN

I tried this at a Software Etc last night and got shot down...still bought the kit however--

Online fun on wed night before thanksgiving with nothing to do > saving ten bucks

That's OK though...I avoid buying games at Software Etc/Gamestop & EB as much as possible...I usually buy used, but in those instance (like this) where I am going to buy new, I don't want some EB Renter's used game at full price.
