Big Lots- Panasonic NiMH Battery Pack - $12.99

I was in Big Lots today and went to the battery section. They were sold out of the 4-pack NiMH Panasonic batteries, but they now have an even better deal -

A package with the following in it:
- Six AA Panasonic NiMH (1600 mAH)
- Two AAA Panasonic NiMH (650 mAH)
- Two C sized "Adapters"
- Two D sized "Adapters"
- A 5-hour NiMH charger

The adapters have a place to insert one of the AA cells, and then they behave like either a C or a D cell battery (Minus the capacity). Seems like a really great idea, but I don't know how well it will work in practice. You will only get a fraction of the power from the AA, but if you bought the 50 pack from bydusa.com then you caould go all night.

The price is $12.99. I picked one up yesterday. These were at Sam's or Costco not too long ago for $25 or so.

That's what I thought until I asked. They were hidden in the toy section, another Big Lots had them hidden in the back back back of the store at the end of the aisle next to some tools.

So if you haven't asked, ask the employees where the Panasonic rechargeable batteries are, they may have some hidden.

My Big Lots had them on the main iasle a few weeks ago, then the moved half to teh display case by the service desk, and the other half went on the hooks on an unsed checkout lane behing several boxes of junk for Summer closeout stuff.

forget it. i found their store locator on their website. Does anyone have an idea if this is a better deal than the one from an earlier thread from Battery USA? Are the batteries same quality? I already ordered from them but just wondering if I should venture into BigLots to get more. thansk.

This is an awesome deal, I paid $20 for this at CostCo B&M after $5 MIR.

Thanks. I guess I will have two sets of chargers now. I don't know why I need two but I just can't resist the temptation. you guys are making me spend lots of $$ lately, especailly Rossman, whenever he says it's a good deal, I HAVE to believe him. I even got the A40 from Dell just because of his recommendation. Someone needs to lock up my wallet.

Stopped by BigLots on the way home today. Didn?t find any rechargeable batteries. I did see a couple Microsoft Strategic Commander?s for $5.99. Anyone know if MS still has a rebate running on these?

I'm pretty sure that rebate ended 8/31.

LOL...Rossman has a lot of power here on AT. I actually bought an A40 because of his recommendation in a PM as well. Haven't received it yet, but I just know it's gotta be good after hearing about it from Rossman.

Unfortunately the Big Lots in SW Portland, OR doesn't have this (or that I could find).

They did have some Panasonic 4 packs of 1600 mAH's rechargeable batteries though for $4.99

I have the Panasonic pack (purchased from BJ) last year.

Charger does work but it is a dumb, fast, timer-based charger.

These are the worst type of chargers as they can cook your batteries unless you discharge them first fully.

I just purchased Rayovac PS4 charger. It is fantastic. I no longer use the Panasonic charger.
