If you were making the assumption I was defending Obama because I enjoy taking Cheney and Co. to task, well, there's a saying about assumptions that would seem to apply here then.

I was because I hadn't seen any of the earlier threads. As bshole can attest, not everyone is aware. I find the practice offensive (they couldn't hide it well enough that I don't know about it) and I don't see any value in neglecting to mention that it continues today.

While our resident righties of the Brownpants Brigade are jumping between fight:

  • We must have our guns!
  • Take back our country!
  • Say the tough things! Muslims are our enemy!

And Flight

  • Our allies need to protect themselves!
  • No more immigrants!
  • Kick out the ones already here!

Let's take a step back and see if Terrorism is some existential threat to our very existence.

It's true terrorism deaths have been on the rise, outside of war torn areas it's about 5-7000 deaths or so. In western countries it's in the hundreds.

Now don't get me wrong, these deaths are tragic and we should be doing something to stop terrorism. But is arming ourselves to teeth, isolating the country and ejecting the 3.3 Muslims who live here, (millions being actual Americans), without due process the right thing to do?

When we compare the number of deaths to other risks the answer is hell no.

Worldwide yearly deaths from:
  • Automobile crashes: 1.3million
  • The flu: 250,000 - 500,00 per year in industrialized countries
  • Aids: 1-2million per year.

So do you see these guys religiously avoiding cars, using condoms and actually washing their hands after using the bathroom? Hell no.

Why not? Because they are not nearly as sphincter loosening as terrorism. If people were rational they wouldn't own a weapon for terrorism defense because accidental shooting deaths occur more often than deaths from terrorism.

It's been proven psychologically that people will accept more risk when they are in control of the situation. They'll accept virtually none when they are not. A terrorist attack is as far from control as you can get.

So what can we rationally do about terrorism? A whole bunch of stuff that's not going to assuage that fight or flight reflex but that actually improves the situation.

  • Finish the action against ISIS - those assholes need to go
  • Increased effective security but balanced against rights and due process.
  • Increased effective surveillance at home and abroad but balanced against rights and due process.
  • Middle East policy that works towards an enlightened and stable area - how? No idea, but there's a Nobel prize there. Would probably involve using the soft powers of the US instead of the military.
  • Policy that reduces global poverty to reduce radicalization - Another Nobel prize here
  • Policy that improves mental health treatment and reduces the stigma of mental illness to help identify and cure those susceptible to doing violence to themselves or others.
  • Understanding in a free society it is impossible to prevent all such attacks but we can reduce them significantly

in egypt there is a small minority of Christians
which is targeted and the women is raped
the rapes are not reported and you know why???
because according to islam even if it a gang rape to a woman if the woman is a non muslim, and 1 of the men that raped her accepts to marry her, then the issue ends there. the women is married to the rapist. and the best think the rape is also considered to be her transformation to muslim religion also. from now she is considered muslim

EGYPT such a tolerant place??? which Christian temples and bla bla bla

great justice you get raped and you marry the rapist

Yeah I can tell English isn't your native tongue so I'm going to reign in my reply here out of courtesy.

You seem to be under the (false) impression that I don't take issue with religious zealots committing violent acts, while avoiding the point I'm trying to make. So I'll take another shot, keep your example of Egypt, and this time try to involve a picture or two to help you understand.

Egypt’s majority Muslim population stuck to its word Thursday night. What had been a promise of solidarity to the weary Coptic community, was honoured, when thousands of Muslims showed up at Coptic Christmas eve mass services in churches around the country and at candle light vigils held outside. (see photo gallery)

From the well-known to the unknown, Muslims had offered their bodies as “human shields” for last night’s mass, making a pledge to collectively fight the threat of Islamic militants and towards an Egypt free from sectarian strife.

“We either live together, or we die together,” was the sloganeering genius of Mohamed El-Sawy, a Muslim arts tycoon whose cultural centre distributed flyers at churches in Cairo Thursday night, and who has been credited with first floating the “human shield” idea.

Sorry to use a story that didn't involve rape, but as you can see, the Wahabi Cult of Evil you so despise isn't running the show in Egypt.

and this is an argument for you or for me???

this shows that the Christian minority is bullied by the Muslims
and yes not all Muslims bullies them but even if a small percentage is doing that it makes their life miserable.

and how is that for your favor???
when you submit an article that shows that the rights of the Christians are violated??

and what will happens next year or in 10 years?? what will happen when the cameras turn off and the people forget??? will the Christians there be free to worship their religion?? they will still need the human shield to let them practice their religion???

and what about now that this areas become more radical muslim?? what is happening to them now or tomorrow when the radicals will overpower the majority??

and you know the people are not all the time in church, they have lifes they have jobs, who will protect them in the every day life???
is there going to be a muslim people as shield to protect them???

serious giving an article to help me???

Fair enough, wasn't trying to be a dick, just hate it when I realize I'm contributing to a derail.

Had it not been for the Egyptian army overthrowing our President's Friend, the Copts would all likely be dead by now. Thankfully there's people who aren't as favorable to the Arab Spring and Muslim Brotherhood as some.

If you are unwilling to see the point placed right in front of your face, I think we're done here. I have to get to bed, and you likely have to go hide under one.

How can anyone/nation/country protect itself against terrorist so determined and so creative?
You think this will stop under a president Donald Trump?
NO IT WON'T!!!

And when the left criticizes the Trump administration after terrorism happens under Trump's watch, which it absolutely will happen, Trump and the right will just say as the did after the GW Bush screw-ups, "NOW IS NO TIME TO LAY BLAME."
We all know they only lay the blame during Obama and Hillary administrations.
But a republican administration? OH NO.... That is off limits.

Terrorist are very determined and creative.
They have used air planes, and just when everyone thought hijacking air places was something that only happened back in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

And terrorist have used shoes, pop cans, cars, and this time a truck.
And one other possibility they could also use in the future and get away with it, using a baby carriage.
A mother and father strolling their baby in a carriage.
What could be more innocent and less of an attention getter?
The couple stroll the carriage up to an unsuspecting crowd of people, and B O O M !!!

Not to give terrorist any ideas, but creativity is their talent.
And even the cops would never challenge nor suspect a nice family couple strolling their little baby in a carriage thru a huge public event.
Not until it exploded.

Hell...
Terrorist could recruit Chris Christie, maybe with a box of Krispy Kreme's, fill Chris full of donuts and explosives, and right there at the RNC convention standing right up there next to Donald Trump, KA-BOOM!
Christie Kreme's all over the nice shiny red balloons.
And as huge as Christie is, that would be some big ass explosion.

Terrorism is sadly forever part of our life.
Donald won't matter, Hillary won't matter, no future president will matter.
And who only knows where or when the next attack will occur?
It all really depends on their creativity.
What could they do that we would never expect?

Just be thankful and hopeful that when nukes are readily available, the NRA will not include nukes with the right to bear arms.
Which no doubt they will include.

whats the point
that the muslim mistreat the christian minority in egypt???

if the muslims did not misstreat them then they would nto need to do a human shield to protect them.

they protect them from themselves how ironic.

its the same as the hunter deciding to stop killing for while and let his pray numbers to go up again to resume later

you fail to address there is an OPPRESSION FROM MUSLIM TO NON MUSLIMS

and if they needed a human shield is not an isolated incident

go to bed and keep your fantasy world in place
MUSLIM IS OPPRESSION

and thank you for linking to that yourself

or we are going to play the game they are not muslims because a muslim would not have done that??

and as i said what will happen tomorrow??
what will happen to them if isis gains acceptance in egypt??

having plain people and not official police shows the problems , the real extend because the muslim countries are theocracies in disguise,

where was the official country??? to protect its people???
egypt is a muslim country show either the muslims in egypt will address the problem, letting the christians leave in peace or oppress them, or else the christians there will need a force from outside the country to remain safe.

i bet if you were a Christian in egypt you will not be all that love about islam as you are now

Treat others as others treat you, don't take craps from anyone.

About your sig.....craps is a dice game. I believe you meant crap. Crap is both singular and plural, unless you actually meant don't take a dice game from anyone. If that's what you meant in your sentence quoted above, I apologize.

Lol, nice find. Wonder where his sympathy was then. Must only last 24 hours or less.

ONE FUCKING DAY AFTER ORLANDO happened, this is what this POS hypocrite had to say:

Now he whines about it because it's NOT about guns this time.

To the regressive-Progressives, it's all about virtue-signalling. Beating their chests loudly to call a crowd and scream, "Look at me! Look at those people! They're bad but I'M NOT! I'll prove it by attacking them so you know I'm GOOD! I claim certain activities and thoughts to be morally better, and to prove it I'm doing them! See! I'm morally better!" (and so forth.)

They don't give a shit about the victims - they ruin the narrative they need to spread for their religion of Progressivism. muslims are at the top of their pyramid, so anything that might make them look bad must be explained away and anyone who questions, stamped out.

Any show of sympathy is simply more virtue-signalling (which is why they have to be so vocal about their support) yet still quick to attack when it comes to defending the narratives of progressivism. Zealotry and hypocrisy at its finest.

Fuck your hypocrisy.

It says there is more terrorism, you dirty liberal.

Wanna' know what's really sad? They're not even liberals anymore, though they still wear the old name tag. They've taken their beliefs and policies so far to the left they've buried the needle and something broke, turning them into raging zealots worse than anything the far-right has ever had - going to any lengths to defend their religion of Progressivism.

Even liberals like me get called "conserva-terrorists" because we're not as deep into far-left beliefs as they.

Sorry I won't buy into this all Muslim's are bad BS. I worked with Muslim guys/women and I can say with certainty they will not become terrorists. The Muslim surgeon who removed my fiancés' cancer was and is spectacular.
