bigbrawl in my neighborhood

my neighbor is a friggin hotshot restuarant owner and is constantly having parties... anyway some of his "guests were riding a loud scooter down the street when another neighbor got pissed and clocked him with a bat or pole, the orig neighbor or party guest let out his 5 rottweilers and starting attacking the dude...I ran out cause he was yelling for help on top of his car... when I got there one dog tried to get me so I grabbed a brick ,our driveway is lined with them, and clocked the dog, next thing I knew someone pushed my to the ground and I knocked the back of my head on the ground. So I threw the (now half) brick at him, I think I caught him in the face..but wasn't going to stick around to find out . If this happened on my driveway, I have no problems right? The cops are out there and ....shiit they're at my doorr

Hmm this brings up a good point. What should someone do when something like this happens? Obviously one would call the police but the guy on top of the car didn't exactly deserve to possibly die being attacked by some dogs. Does one do like in the movies of shooting a shotgun/rifle/gun into the air. Assuming this does get everyones attention do you then announce that everyone had better break it up as the police are on their way?
The hotshot restaurant owner needs to think about the fact he has neighbors and they probably don't appreciate people riding loud scooters up and down the street.
The pissed neighbor should have called the police and not be clocking people on scooters with bats and poles.
Bentwookie, if things have gotten that out of control it would be best to call the police and stress the urgency of them being there asap or someone is going to die. For a loud party complaint it will take hours if they ever come. If they know someone may be about to die they will be there a LOT quicker.
If you are lucky nothing will happen to you. If not, I'm no lawyer but I'd guess you're going to have to prove self defense in a court of law.

Edit: On the bright side if you have to go to court, the pissed neighbor who clocked the scooter person(s) will be able to testify on your behalf.

1. You hit the dog first. Good move. Although peta might bug you, that's hardly an offence apparently.
2. Guy through you to the ground, hit your head, you obviously felt you were in danger, threw a brick and i'm assuming ran away and thats why you dont know what happened. Sounds like self defence to me.

A) you are under 18, or more than 10 years younger than your neighbour.
B) the original neighbour has more money than you.

You go outside to see what all the commotion is all about, then a dog tries to attack you. You defend yourself against the dog via any means necessary. Then someone assaults you, and then you slip into a self defense mode to protect yourself. That's how you need to tell your story...

#1 guy screaming for his life on car sorunded by known attack dogs.

I go inside and get my rifle. They start getting shot from my doorway. I lofe dogs, and all life in general, but if I have to choose between dog and human, dog go bye bye.

Anyone who comes after me will have to step into my house. They pass that threshold, then per Illinois Law I may shoot them with or without warning assuming I fear for my life.

Cops come, I unload the weapon, and give up.
