7% and then a 13% two weeks later. Over the eight years I have been here I have increased my salary 35%ish. Not to bad considering the last 4 years have been under a salary freeze.

50% my first year on my job as a cable contractor back in 99. We were lucky because, even though we were a non-union shop, the Time Warner Cable union (local 3 IBEW) worked out a deal for their computer techs, and our shop had to match the new pay standard or risk losing the contract with them.

Man it was sweet, I was clocking close to $2k a week. I miss those days dearly.

My first development job was part-time contract while I was still working on my CS degree. I was making $16/hr and when they renewed my contract after 6 months, they bumped me up to $23/hr.
Since then, the biggest raise I've had without changing companies is about 8%. When I joined my current company, it was a 12% raise over my previous salary. But when I factored in the 401k benefit and health care coverage, it was really equivalent to at least 30% more money.

Got a 74% raise once. Same job responsibilities, just switched companies to one that paid more.

I miss the dot com boom.

Fine. Biggest raise without changing companies was 33%. Again no change in responsibilities. We were underpaid and everyone in my department started quitting to go elsewhere and we couldn't hire anyone qualified. That finally woke up the people in charge.

About a 40% raise in 2007, no added work or responsibility.

I was going to ask for a lot less, but boss gave me 40% without even hesitating. I had just returned from a year overseas (had been at my civilian job for 3 years before that) and basically the time I was away made him realize how good the work I was doing was.

My first job out of college they adjusted payscales and I got a 25% raise only 7 months in.

When I switched jobs in March this year it was a 50% increase, but had to move somewhere with 20% higher cost of living.

Biggest raise in %. Probably when my company reorganized their internal pay schedules. I was paid $30,000 for the job I did but they raised it to $40,000 because they said according to the industry most people who did this job got paid $40,000 and they didn't want a turnover in that position so they raised everybody to a more appropriate pay schedule.

20%

back when I started working at that company, the unofficial policy was that they paid shit your first year, and then bumped you up to a more appropriate salary if you made it out the other end of the grinder.

first job to second job 41%. Last job to current, 67%. First job to Current in the last 6 year, compounded 30% raises. Not including bonuses.

Been pretty lucky, around 15% or more (standard yearly plus out-of-cycle) each year for the last three years.

Went from E4 to E5 in the USAF, that was a big of a raise. Base pay and BAH allowance got some nice jumps. Took a 50% pay cut when I separated, then a 20% pay raise when I started my new job back in April. Got a raise with them after two months, because of how their 'cycles' work. A 7 cent raise because of the proration.

I thought E4 -> E5 was the biggest % pay jump in the military.? Though I haven't checked in years. I know that congress was trying to increase retention of E5's so that may have changed.

Becoming self employed. 1st 2 years sucked because of no pay but the last 3 have been 170% more than my best at the old employer.

$20,000 raise.

Followed by a $75,000 pay drop a few years later (upon moving to FL)

haven't had a raise in awhile, although going from contractor to employee got me about a $8k/year raise.

I had one job where I got 15%,then 7.5%, then 18%, then 18% again over the course of about 2 year, though I was started so low I was still way underpaid. Then I quit for a new job which was a 25% increase. And here I've gotten 2.5% then 10% twice in 6 months. I still think I'm underpaid.

Damn, those are nice raises. My raise during my last annual review was 1%. I guess I should be grateful considering that no raises were expected or budgeted for the year.

Not sure if you'd count this, but 40% when going from contract to perm with a role change in the company I'd been at for a year. 32k to 45k. The further my career goes the smaller the raise percentages are, just because money increases are less sizable the further up the pay scale you are.
