Bike Rack for Infiniti G37S 2008?

I'm just curious if anyone has any input on a bike rack that could work for this car. Doing a google search I haven't had much luck finding one that people say works well with this car.

I'm curious if anyone on here has any experience with this. I don't want a roof rack for sure, I want it to be on the trunk or possibly a hitch but I am not sure what all is involved with that. I'm looking for a 2 or 3 bike rack.

Some terry cloth on mount points to help protect the paint.

Hitch mount is the better solution. If you can, go hitch

I did a bit more research and I think that the one I'll probably go with is the Hollywood Expedition rack. It says it fits good on my car. Apparently the spoiler on it is what makes a lot of the others not fit very well. But that one specifically says it fits with the spoiler and is a pretty good fit.

But I'm still open to other suggestions as I'm in no rush to get one.

No hitch and my car isn't really designed for a hitch. It's possible to install them but it requires cutting parts of the bumper off which I really don't want to do.

I had a class 1 hitch installed on my 08' G35x I believe it was a Curt hitch. The car was never designed to have one however they do exist. I needed something to carry bikes around and wasn't keen to having something mounted to my trunk and rubbing paint. I carry one adult and a kids bike and works as advertised. If i recall correctly they suggested a max weight of 200lbs.

Yes they have to cut a hole in the bumper cover but it is covered by the rear license plate and not noticeable.

I have a cargo tray that I throw on occasionally if i'm camping or transporting something that I don't want inside the vehicle.

What prompted me to get a hitch was the permanent deformation of my housemate's rear bumper cover. I haven't see a clip-on rack where that wouldn't be a concern. Not that I have a super-fancy car, but why screw it up on purpose?

I haven't personally tried every bike rack on the market, and I wish you the best of luck, but the way I figure it, your rear bumper cover is getting screwed up either way - at least with a hitch, you can also use a mini trailer or cargo shelf for camping.

Edit: My dad had a Hollywood rack that left permanent dents in his Camry, too. Don't remember the model, exactly. I wonder if somebody makes an extension that would lower the mount points for the hitch enough to not interfere with the bumper cover?

I don't plan on keeping the rack on my car when not using it. It's going to be on just the days I use it then come right off.

Just curious - how much did you pay for the hitch installation after it was all said and done? Also while I think it is the same installation process and point, I have a G37S not a G35 like you do.

I think they quoted me 1.5 hrs of labor which is probably a bit excessive however I think it was around $125? They were able to purchase the hitch for less than what I could find it and felt it balanced itself out. About 3 yrs later haven't had any issues with the hitch aside from the normal wear you'd expect from a hitch.

I found these instructions and it appears they are different from an X to an S even they are the same year.

For me i'm glad i went with the hitch as the extra room using a cargo carrier was handy when carrying the occasional cooler, set of tires, or bulky items that wouldn't inside. I still don't understand why these cars had so much tech packed into them but they couldn't implement fold-down rear seats??

On an unrelated note did you car have the 1st aid kit still in the rear armrest?
