This talk is all wrong, just wrong wrong wrong wrong. Its just yet another lie about the truth, a "twisting" that Bush is and was so good at. Remember, Kerry too got more votes than any elected president. So Bush saying he's "special" it just a twisted lie, as usual. Also, Democrats were able to get a higher turnout and get more voters then ever to vote for a Democrat named Kerry. That just isn?t to be ignored folks. And last, what we keep forgetting and adding in what I just said...it is very very very very very very hard to beat a sitting President, PEROID. Thats why the Republicans ran Bob Dole back in 96. They knew he really had little chance to win. Like winning the lottery, possible but realistic doubtful. Democrats ARE on the right track. Being against private SS IS popular. Being against using the Constitution to ban Gay rights IS where most Americans stand. I can go on, but we have to keep true to our values, they are the right values for America and what America even stands for.

Same here. if only he could have been reelected ... he such an amazing president..

Homosexuals, Abortionists, Atheists, Communists. This was John Kerry's base. These people were knocking on my door trying to get me to vote for John Kerry.
The message was clear. If you are anti everything that America was founded on then John Kerry is your man. it is exactly because of grgr and others like him that the Democratic party received such a resounding defeat. They say , politics makes for strange bedfellows. Well all the strange people are on one side. So it is easy now to lump up all the group together and say the Democratic party is the party of the morally bankrupt.
Wow I'm surprised that there are ignorant assholes like you up in New Hampshire. I figured most of you were concentrated in Survivalist Compounds in Rural Alabama and Idaho.

Spoken like someone who has never been to either place.

There were some strong rumors that the Dems ran Kerry because they didn't want a sitting President when Hilary started her campaign. The Democrats may have engineered the voting machines to guarantee a loss for Kerry.

Ladies and gentlemen. If you look closely into the two cages in front of you, you'll notice two nearly identical and fascinating specimens, the only difference being their ideological origin. Please stay back from the cages and don't attempt to rile them or feed them.

In one cage we have N. Polar trollus liberalis. In the other we have S. Polar trollus conservitus. They must be kept in separate cages due to their complete and total animosity for each other and their tendency to get into vicious snarling battles. Unusually, their markings are virtually mirror images of each other. Notice the rather large hackles on both the back of each that stay in a constant state of erection. Scientists speculate these hackles provide a firm hand hold for the symbiotic monkey that is known to attach themselves to and ride on their backs in their native habitat. Notice that each also has a scientifically curious protusion on their shoulders, the only difference being that one has the mark on its left shoulder and the other on its right. This mark is commonly referred to as the "chip" and has no known or as yet discovered use, however, it has been known to grow geometrically during snarling battles. When sleeping, both exhibit the same behavior, firmly planting their head up their anus. Notice the glass separating them both is stained yellow. This is caused by the curious behavior each has of lifting their leg in an attempt to urinate on the other. The joke is on them though because that glass is really a mirror. They see that mirror image and perform their ritual instinctively and rather rabidly. If you wait a short time you'll be able to witness this common behavior for yourselves.

Interestingly enough, their children are virtually identical. Only during and shortly after puberty do they begin to differentiate.

Let's move on to the next attraction, the politicus headinsandus.

Yes, Red Dawn has been particularly pompous lately. He must be very bitter from the election results.

Yeah the Dems desperately need to find more attractive candidates. But, all those things are tied into the simple fact that the populace as a whole has become more politically conservative in recent years, and the Dems slash and burn campaign against traditional and moderate Americans has people backing off.
I think you're confusing the Democratic party with the extreme left posters here in P&N. Why don't you give me a specific example of how Kerry or anyone in his camp ran a "...slash and burn campaign against traditional and moderate Americans?" I really don't think you can. You're stereotyping the left just as much as you whine about the left stereotyping the right. Most voters on both sides are rather moderate, so try and seperate the two a little better.

From my view he didn't step on anyone's feet and acted as a diplomat in most situations. How you can say he failed when your country was at peace during his rule baffles me in all honesty. It's almost as though you're blaming Iraq and Bush's foreign policy failings on Clinton."

Ah yes, not being an American I can see how you would find not stepping on anyone's feet a good thing. But that doesn't mean someone is doing a good job... in fact in this world, if you're not stepping on someone's feet sometime, there's simply something wrong. And there was. The fact that we were "at peace" during his terms is illusionary, and part of the problem. We pretended to be at peace, while fanatics built power and waged war. We did not engage our enemies with the proper response required. I believe Clinton did not want to rock the boat, and took the easy way out... this only increased our problems for another day.

I sincerely hope that your views are not common among most Americans. Sadly I have a feeling alot of people would agree with you though.

War should be a last resort, not part of the foreign policy.

Deakmonkey, you may be right... it's just those people bray so loudly it creates a lot of baggage to overcome. And I'm not so sure the Kerry campaign was very 'slash and burn', but I'm thinking of the Democrat movement in general. As the suburbs grow with young families and a optimistic business climate, the Dems will have to ride the wave of middle class aspirations, and until the learn to appeal to such hopes and dreams they're likely to continue to be shellshocked in the political wars. When you have a bunch of arrogant elites -like many on this board- attacking and demonizing such people and their values, then the Dems goals will continue to be thwarted by their own.

It has been bad for some time. But now, there's a bumper crop of extremists whose hatred of Bush has now metastasized into a hatred of those who voted to keep him in office. Just looks to get worse to me.

As much as some repubs hate him - probably because of his competency - clinton was indeed a good president, and a smart man. Kerry was a joke of a candiate for the democrats, and if they could have had a guy like clinton run he'd have made small work out of Bush. Bush was dealt a different hand than Clinton. Clinton reigned during a very easy time, with only one major conflict I can think of (Kosovo), plus he got out just as the economy was crashing. It's hard to say how much that contributed to his perceived success.

I've never seen one here and haven't been to Idaho. If you will tell me where one is in Alabama, I will check it out and report back.
