Bill Paxton RIP

I loved all his roles - he made them all appear so different. Case in point, he was the tough-as-nails sergeant in Edge of Tomorrow, and also the wimp of a car salesman in True Lies. Neither movie would have been as much fun without him.

True Lies is one of my all time popcorn fun movies. Bill Paxton is a big part of why I love this film. He can play the ultimate sleazeball. He morphed into any role he played...so versatile.

He hosts the Twister ride at Disney or Universal Studios. It's where you go into a pretend town that gets hit by a twister. I've been on it a couple times with my kids and I'll remember him most for that ride based on the movie.

Man, I loved Bill Paxton. He nailed every role and always seemed to have fun with it, no matter how small it may have been. I think that Chet from Weird Science and the dude in Aliens were the first roles where to me, he became, "oh, that guy!"

His True Lies role basically fueled about 5-8 years of one-liners among my friends. RIP

Well...he wasn't always GREAT in his parts...but damn...the guy had range in his talents, and wasn't always "Bill Paxton playing Bill Paxton. He almost always sold the part.

Man his character Chet in Weird Science was one of the first favourite characters I recall growing up. Absolutely loved him in that movie. I might have to have a nice greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray in his honor.

Well...he wasn't always GREAT in his parts...but damn...the guy had range in his talents, and wasn't always "Bill Paxton playing Bill Paxton. He almost always sold the part.

Agreed he is in my mind an excellent supporting player in some film classics. Aliens and Near Dark being two of my favorite thanks in no small part to the roles he played in them Hudson and Severen.

It's too soon to say but it looks like Edge of Tomorrow will become another genre classic.

Bill Paxton to me was the king of the one liners. He also usually played the supporting roles for characters you love to hate. But each character you loved to hate were so very different as well. While more famous for his sci-fi stuff to me, he did play in a nice wide range of roles over the years and did them well. I still find myself saying some of his one liners from time to time like "Game over man!" and I doubt I'll ever forget that or him.

I've been on that ride, but it's not there anymore, it closed down in 2015.

I have seen it and it's imo a very good first time directoral effort. I wonder why he didn't continue to direct.
