BIND 9 config question

Is there a way to set my nameserver to always start searches with a certian upstream nameserver?
I setup my own local for some dhcp and ldap stuff, but I'd like it to always look to my ISPs first and then let it work its way on up.
Its a cablemodem dns server so its sure to have a cache for a hell of a lot of domains.

I believe you can forward requests to a server using the forwarder option (or something like that). I don't think you can tell it to query one server and then search on its own. I'm no BIND expert, but that's my vague recollection. Look in the manuals for it.

yea, I think it'll ask the forwarder then if it gets a bad reply it'll consider the name unresolvable. As long as the forwarder handles recursive queries it shouldn't be a problem though.
