I just got through purchasing a set of binoculars (Pentax DCF HRII). By far the best deal was these guys: http://advancedphotosource.com/
check em out if you are looking for Binoculars - small selection (some really high end Leica, etc) but great deal. They charged 200 dollars for binoculars the cheapest guys were charging 298 for. My 2 cents.

The telescopes on OV site are crap to be avoided. I agree with the Orion recommendation or even better, for handcrafted Made in USA telecope go for Nighthawk from Stellarvue.

i have checked orion telescopes, doesn't seem so cheap...

i have also heard that many binoculars and telescopes are OEM from almost the same manufactory, anybody has any idea on that?
