BIOS FLASH: a newbie and his new MSI Pro2-RU

(first off: i'm a newbie at PC building)

I'm following these directions to put my computer together. I've gotten to step 40 (almost; my cpu temp is hovering around 41 C, so i'm planning ahead).

I've never flashed a BIOS before, so I thought I'd ask for some help!

From what i've read on the MSI website, this is something I can do with windows started up, correct? Is this the easiest/best way to do things?

And, does "flashing a BIOS" just mean upgrading the BIOS? I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 -- and I download BIOS updates every once and a while and update it through windows using an executable. The only reason I'm concerned is that the instructions for "how to setup your MSI board" says "if you're not familar with how to flash your BIOS -- don't". That sentence is a bit intimidating!

vancenase, i got a boot disk from Here. Made a folder in program files, or anywhere else you want, downloaded Drdos 7 to this folder and ran the setup. Then you save it to a floppy. Do the same with the Bios update. down load it to an enpty folder, open it and save it to the same floppy your Boot disk file is on. Reboot your computer with the floppy in and when the "A" prompt comes up i typed UPDATE. This is on an EPOX board. ill have to see if msi is the same.

Well, at the MSI site in the Bios section they say DON'T flash from a floppy so disreguard what i said. Sorry. Maybe you can use the live Bios.
