BIOS reset INTEL DX38BT

mainbord: Intel DX38BT

I turned off the USB ports in the BIOS (install problems with XP SP1). However, the mainbord doesn't come with ps/2 (nor floppy drive), so I can't do anything with the machine.

I have tried to reset the BIOS by unplugging the power cable, removing the battery and wait for over an hour, but still the USB keyboard won't work.

I have also tried the option: remove power cable, remove the BIOS Setup Configuration Jumper, power on, power off, put jumper back and power on. No working keyboard (machine starts normally though).

This is soo bad: Any ideas?

The obvious solution would be to turn back on the USB ports in BIOS and not install XP SP1, but from the sounds of things is that you can't even get that far due to unresponsive keyboard.
I would also assume you know how-to properly reset the cmos sames its not just power off machine change jumper, move it back, power on. (Lots of things in between, like waiting 30 seconds while jumper is in its clear cmos position and then press power button a few times to be sure its discharged).

Also how about listing what keyboard and mouse this is too, actually list full system spec's.

Yeah, I have done that all...
mainboard: DX38BT
proc: Q6600
mem:2x Kingston 2GB 1066MHz
video: ASUS EN8800GTS 640M
HD: SEAGATE 1TB S-ATA ENTERPRISE DRIVE
keyb: LOGITECH LX710 CORDLESS LASER DESKTOP (also tried simple dell usb keyboard)

I have used the recover option using a cd with the correct bios (.bio) file. The bios was recovered, but still non responding keyboard...

do u have USB legacy enabled in the bios?
try another usb port?

my advise to you, return that board.

I owned that board for 3 days. I fought constantly with it trying to get it to work right.

I gave up and returned it for a refund. DX38BT was the worst mobo i have ever used.

I really hate to tell you this, but that board is garbage. You aren't the only one having problems with that board....BIOS is awful and extremely buggy.

It's THE cheapest X38 board there is for a reason....
