This is My PC

Gigabyte P35-DS3L
Q6600 G0 - with Akasa AK-965 cooler
OCZ 2GB RAM @ 800mhz 5-5-5-12
Nvidia 8800gt
corsair VX550

Ok, the problem lies whenever i so i whenever i try to overclock, i set the FSB to 1333mhz and add a tiny amount more voltage and also reduce the memory multiplier to 2.4 from 3 so that the memory is still at 800mhz

The system boots up fine with the clock setting and stays cool (40-52C), have stress tested it for 6 hours and all is fine, but for some reason the BIOS randomly disables the CPU host control therefore reducing clockspeeds to stock every couple of days or maybe a week

Its really confusing why it would do that and i cant figure the problem, do you have any idea how to fix this?

You know, My Intel board had this trouble and what I have found was that what I thought a stable system turned out not to be stable and reverted back to a default setting. Have you run tests at lower clocks and got stability? Like say 300Mhz? If not, I feel that your jumping the gun here and you need to OC in stages.

Then your problem has absolutely nothing to do with your motherboard.

I have warranty on the Mobo but i dont know if its worth sending the board back and having to rebuild everything again

There's nothing wrong with your board, only your overclock.

maybe the bios chip got damaged after the time where i had it at 2700mhz

If it reverts to stock again i will try 2700mhz and see if it has the same result that way i can find the problem

Trust me, only RMA your motherboard if you know it's truly bad. Unless of course you enjoy the idea of ripping your system apart and waiting weeks for a refurbished motherboard to come back.

Write down all your information as you adjust your settings, Read "greysky's" post at the top of this forum. Over clock in sages or increments and don't rush it. The Gigabyte P35-DS3L board is pretty simple and is easy to understand as I too own this exact board. Do these simple things and you shouldn't have any problems.

And follow the advice of "daveybrat" about RMA!

I've heard of various cases where Gigabyte boards don't hold OC settings well. It could be a bad board. Thankfully, neither of my P35-DS3R boards seem to exhibit the problem, but then again I rarely if ever shut them off.
