Set Intel and Marvell SATA controllers to AHCI in BIOS. Did a Win7 Pro clean install with AHCI pre-install drivers on SSD connected to Intel 3G port. Installed Marvell 1027 drivers. Boot sequence is normal.
Then moved SSD to Marvell 6G sata port and I always get a fans starting for about 1 second, fans stop for about 1 second and then continues with a normal restart and a successful boot into Windows. Drive Boot Priority is set to SSD in BIOS.
I also have 'noise' with the SSD on Marvell 6G port that does not occur when on Intel 3G port-hard to describe but perhaps 'scratchy or sizzling'-seems to be related to disk activity. Can't tell where noise is coming from-motherboard power controller?? Noise doesn't seem normal??
Any ideas on abnormal startup sequence and noise issues?
