Bioshock Infinite - Excited or Not

You don't like the carbine? I haven't let it go since I found it due to its accuracy and decent enough damage. I've been strictly hip firing apart from some distance shots, and with the auto aim the game has the carbine is a head shot machine. I typically keep the carbine and rotate out the 2nd weapon depending on what I'm finding around. I just equipped the hand cannon and think it's awesome. Really good damage and pretty accurate.

I like the Carbine as I seem to waste less ammo than with the Machine Gun, but all of the weapons take a ton of ammo when it comes to taking out heavier targets (tin men, etc.). I really just need a semi-automatic weapon with an actual scope. Even with real guns, I've never been a fan of iron sights!

I also started to use possession more recently after buying the upgrade that greatly reduces the amount of salt it requires. Since you can only possess one thing at a time you can't really spam it, but if you find one of the more armored guys it's pretty useful. Plus if you use it on a person they'll kill themselves when it's over, but if you use it on a turret it'll shoot as you as soon as it wears off.

Yeah, I kept working up enough money to buy that. It pretty much makes it cost as much as Devil's Kiss, which makes it far nicer to use. It used to cost so much salt that it really hampered you if you used it a lot.

Stayed up late and finished it last night.

I think it is a bit overrated but definitely a solid 8.5/10.

Am I the only one who saw the ending coming from a mile away??



Edit: One place where I was really impressed was the fluidity of interaction between Booker and Elizabeth. Having her around never got annoying like it would it a lot of other games. She is helpful and never gets in the way. All of the AI in general was very good.

Great artwork, story, and atmosphere is definitely what makes this game. The FPS elements though are very similar to the previous Bioshock titles and thus somewhat mundane. Still definitely a title worth playing due to its sheer beauty.

I finished it last night, and it took me 14 hours. I think this makes my Mount Rushmore list of best single player games. I pretty much recorded the whole game, so I watched the ending twice. Good stuff.

Runs nice on my laptop, 660m at 1085/2500 runs 40-55 fps at 1080p everything maxed except occulusion, post processing (on normal), shadows on high. Vram usage is ridiculously high--seriously 1.8 GB?

Liking the atmosphere in the game, nice attention to detail though a little repetitive ( all those slideshow things and stuff hidden in identical looking trashbins). AI is very good and Elizabeth is amazing in that she never gets in the way of you.

Objects have no physics, enemy AI is generally quite good although the people around you (general npcs) are static (did anyone else like how skyrim actually gave these people a life?) and this hurts immersion quality. Game is way too easy and they should cut the amount of food you can find down to about 1/3.

I agree with a lot of this. The game to me is 8/10 and might make my top 20 list. I also do not like the limited gun upgrades and other parts of the game have been dumbed down a little too much.

Finally finished it. If this was released last year, GOTY in my book. We'll see what else comes out this year, likely GOTY for this year as well. Amazing.

Not perfect, but nothing is. Most annoying thing about the game for me was collision and moving around, bumping into objects, and coming to a standstill needing to strafe, rather than sliding along and off the object. That and needing to play on ultra low mouse sensitivity. Just nitpicks. Game was stellar.

I finished this morning. I did really like it but overall I prefer the aesthetic, gameplay mechanics and "feel" of the original. I am wary of whether the season pass makes sense, because while I enjoyed playing it, I'm not sure I would be burning to play additional episodes. Will wait for the reviews on those.

I just finished. Couldn't wait to get back from Easter dinner to continue.

I thought this was as good as story as the first, and the art and graphics took a step up. Game play was pretty much the same. I thought the ending was fantastic. A bit darker definitely than the first. On balance I liked this better.

Absolutely worth the 60 bucks!

I'm also at the buying the guns part the game just gets better story wise. I may have missed and rushed some stuff I also may start it over on all maxed although I have everything maxed except shadows and ambient occlusion.

I saw the first twist coming from a mile away but the second twist I wasn't really expecting. I figured it out when they went to the birthplace of Comstock and it turned out to be the baptism scene but it was too late at the point lol.

You know what the most annoying thing has to be? I'm off in the corner with no one around, and I use a mind control vigor on a vending machine. You hear some random scream from some NPC that doesn't exist and cops start attacking me. It's rather lame to be automatically attacked for reappropriating the coins! :$
