This is a friendly reminder that the BioShock launch trailer will premiere tonight on Spike TV. It will premiere during the 9pm hour, during the show The Kill Point. Plus, right after the premiere, Geoff Keighley will have a surprise announcement. Geoff tells me that all the Bioshock goodness will hit around 9:45pm ET (and then at 9:45p PT for west coasters.)

Expect the HD version to appear on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace shortly thereafter.

I was watching for the annoucement on spike, I started the d/l as soon as it was available. 45 mins and only 20%.

Ya, I was playing some Madden, and as soon as I had finished a game, I was automatically logged off Live. When I was finally able to get it to log back in, I couldn't save my profile of my just finished game in Madden, and it subsequently locked up on me.

Downloading the demo now, though. Can't wait to give it a whirl, I want to see if it lives up to the completely crazy hype it's been getting. This will also help me make a decision on whether or not to buy it.

Anyhow I have the CE of Bioshock pre-ordered, and for a guy who has never bought a CE/LE of any game in his life that's saying a lot. 3 reviews out so far, OXM UK 10/10, PC Gamer 95%, Gametrailers 5/5. This game is going to own.

Yeah, it looked sweet but I don't think it did a very good job of telling what was going on. If I hadn't already read several previews explaining most everything, I would have been confused as all get out.

I just played for about 15 minutes and it seems amazing. The graphics are incredible, the world very authentic and interesting, and the environment and sound really really creepy. It seems very linear in the limited bit I've played, but I gather this isn't true later on in the game.

I started the download around 11pm last night, and when I checked it at around 6:45am this morning, it was at 90%. Since I have to work the Madden launch at Gamestop tonight, I won't be able to play it until tomorrow.

I'm interested in hearing more impressions about it from those of you who have played it.

Ars apparently had a wonderful experience.

Very few games have the type of hype and heightened expectations that gamers are saddled with going into a demo like Bioshock. Luckily, the game is that good. Having played the PC version on God's own system at E3, I was skeptical of the Xbox 360's ability to reproduce the engine?with all the effects and with a good framerate?that I had seen on the PC. My fears are gone. Bioshock looks absolutely amazing on the 360, with a rock-solid framerate and control scheme. This is no second-class port, and I'm wavering in my conviction to buy the PC version.

I've played it twice so far, and I have very little to complain about. The controls are well-designed, the powers in the demo (a lightning bolt attack and a pyrokinesis upgrade) are fun to use, and the world of Rapture is amazing. Everything from the art on the walls to the music in the background is perfectly chosen to set the stage and fill you with a sense of dread. This is a once-great city that is now rotting from the inside, but everywhere you see the hints of its former opulence.

I don't want to give much away; there are so many little touches that really make this demo shine. I can say I'm very much impressed; this demo is a must-play, even if you're not normally excited by first-person shooters. An incredible technological and artistic achievement on the 360.

I won't get to play until later tonight when the kiddies are in bed. Hopefully, I can stay up that late after getting up really early this morning. :laugh:
