It really only applies if you plan on overclocking, which I assume you are as most that come here do.
When you raise the FSB to overclock you also increase the ramspeed. With the bios that came with the board the lowest setting is DDR533, so if you increase the FSB from 200 to 300 your ram overclocks to DDR800 which if your using DDR566 or DDR667 memory is a big problem. With the DDR400 setting you can increase the FSB up to 333mhz and the ram will be running DDR667.
In other words the DDR400 setting allows you much more overclocking headroom with cheaper ram.
If your not overclocking I would just use the latest released bios from the biostar website
