Biostar good bad?

Might pick up a nforce2 mobo from them since they are pretty cheap and just need a cheap baord. They better then MSI or is MSI better?

I've built several systems based on the Biostar M7NCG 400 lately. Two with AthlonXP chips, one with a Sempron 2400+. The Biostar board is awesome. It was super easy to setup and very stable.

When I build my wife a new PC next year I'm thinking about building her one using that board as well. She was quite pleased with the systems when she tested them for me prior to delivering them to my customers.

Oh yeah, the M7NCG 400 is an IGP board and costed just $65 shipped at Newegg when I bought them. What an excellent bargain!!! I highly recommend you check out Biostar, they seem to be really underrated IMHO.

This PC I am building for a friend is a budget PC so has to be under $100, I heard newegg's refurb program is good and that usually they are new. So was gonna take a shot. I got a 1900+ for $30, gonna get 256MB ram stick and a case. and I am set, need to get a bid card first though lol/

Biostar is fine. Should be good for a basic value system. Go for it.

I built a system for my cousin using the M7NCG 400 and an XP2600 about 2 months ago. Awesome board, very stable, and can overclock pretty decently (I got 385 FSB w/ stock cooling and default voltages and timings). It also had surprisingly decent 3D performance for onboard video; certainly enough for web surfing, email, and light-to-medium gaming.

A vote for the Biostar M7NCG 400. Have several builds w/XP's to Sempron's. All using onboard video which has been a pleasent surprise. It limits you to PC 2700/dual channel but thats seems to work. Longest running /18 months and NO PROBLEMS to date w/ a variety of user types. Very stable board.
