Biostar M7NCD Problem

Hey all I recently purchased this board from newegg, Im using the AMD Athlon XP 2200+ with the stock HSF and 256 MB PC3200 memory with Geforce 2 64 MB video card. I cannot get this motherboard to even post beep or show any video on the monitor I think its DOA can someone please help me? If you can I would really appreciate all the replies ive been working on this for 2 days and im so frustrated with it.

biostars are crap. im sorry. i got the m7viz, and it would just hang at the splash screen.

if you guys think biostar is so good, either you have been very lucky, or i have been very unlucky, or you work for biostar. no user error on my part.

What is the exact definition of "doesn't post"...... Do you have fans spinning? Do you see the power LED on? Look for thread I started about a hate relationship between an M7NCD Pro and a sapphire radeon 9600......

I had some problem with mine working right away too. I just unplugged the power cord, reset the bios, and then all was OK. Or maybe I had to do that a few times, I can't remember for sure, but it has worked fine since then.
I've got 2 X 256 MB Crucial PC2100, Stock heatsink on a XP 2400, Geforce Ti 4400, just using the onboard sound, and a firewire card.

Well I must be lucky as I've built four machines (in the last two months) using the Biostar boards ranging from Amd 1700+ to a Barton 2800+. They all built w/o a hitch one and run just fine. BTW owned a Biostar in '93 w/ Pentium 100 and no problems there either.

need more details like complete system specs. I just used one to rebuild my kids box after the old board died and it had an issue with the WD drive in it. Fortunately it is a fairly common issue with Nforce2 boards and some WD drives made about 2 years ago. I had it happen with another Nforce 2 board i used. The fix was to cut the first 2 wires in the ata 1oo cable thus disconnecting pin 1 on the drive. Like i said more details will help us to help you.

I had the same problem as Dynamic1234. The motherboard manual has the front panel connector illustration upside down. If you follow the illustration it will not do anything. Once I realized the picture in the manual was upside down and plugged the on/off switch in the right place it fired right up.

i just got one from newegg too and it worked flawlessly... sorry you are having trouble... whether im lucky or not i feel like it was a good board to get for $50...

Dynamic1234,try booting with the motherboard out of the case since it could be a shorting inside the case, wooden surface would be fine ,also try clearing the CMOS,btw does your motherboard have any jumpers? I would check them as well.
