Biostar's web site doesn't mention support of AthlonXP Thoroughbred processors, but it does mention that it supports the Palomino processors. Has anyone tried this board with an AthlonXP Thoroughbred CPU, and if so, does it work? Thanks!
i did run an athlonxp(t-bred) and it worked pretty well... but it had some boot problems at times
i dont think the board "officially" supports anything other then the original athlonXP (palomino) up to xp2100+
the reason for not having "official" support is most likely because of the lower power requirements of the newer versions of the athlonXP... so running one of the newer cpu's will probably over volt it
no idea.. i upgraded both of those systems over a year ago, so its not real fresh in my mind the specs... sorry
i just remember it only officially supported the palomino, but i figured it woudlnt hurt to try a tbred. and like i said in the earlier post. it developed some cold boot problems with the tbred that it didnt have with the palomino
but then that board does have a fairly recent bios update available (the update came out way after i had already sold my boards).. and the updated claims something like "updated cpu table" so for all i know it might now have support for the new tbred and the new applebred (duron), etc
In fact, I have a BIOS more recent than the one on Biostar's web site; I was having some RAM problems, so Biostar sent me a beta BIOS, which ended up fixing the problem.
I tried an old t-bred processor I had in the board, and the board refused to POST. This cpu was known to work intermittently, though, so it might not have been the board's fault.

If anyone else knows what the minimum voltage supported by this board is, please let me know.
