My very own $80 Biostar P67 mobo with a OC 2500K and a <$50 H61 Biostar mobo a friend with non solid caps and 2500 non-K both just passed their 3-year warranty mark with flying colors as gaming rigs.

Questionable quality my ass. Who looks like the fool now, the one who "cheaps out" on a $50 mobo or the idiots I see running around with mobos costing at least 6x as much and not even using SLI/XF? An equivalent of a new GTX 760 of money well spent indeed.

Biostar ranks 4th for me in my choice of a motherboard, behind Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI.

I think Biostar is fine for your average user. The reason enthusiasts didn't like it quite so much was that their BIOS didn't have as many of the features/options as a an enthusiast board and setting were tuned more conservatively by default.

I don't know if you can make that assessment, after all you purchased Biostar's top of the line board, which can't help evaluate their budget offerings.
Biostar's budget boards use better components than AsRock's mid-tier boards;at least in the inductor/main capacitor area.
This is not my 1st rodeo.
At the moment I own...5 Biostar boards.
0 MSI
3 Gigabyte
4 Asus

In addition to the better component choices, Biostar motherboards are also more solid while ASRock has thin flexible boards to save more money.

Have always liked Biostar mobos. Have a bunch of TA870+s, TA880GB+s and TZ77XE4s, all running 24/7 for the past few years without problems.

nothing spectacular about biostar mobos... i've ran a few in the past in simple machines and they always performed just fine

I would rank Biostar above AsRock in quality.

I have the umm..z97 one..
..and it's better than AsRock Extreme4..
I can't say about AsRock's higher-tiered offerings.(Ex6-9-11,OCF)

If you don't even know what board you bought... how can you say its better than the extreme4?

Even their cheapest boards uses Nichicon or Chemicon caps and Japanese power controllers for CPU power circuitry; don't even need to talk about the higher end models. It's just hilarious how the detractors here have no arguments other than weak-as-hell "it's cheap therefore it must suck".

Dear Carson Dyle, I am happy that you do not NEED to change your BioStar H61MGV3 BIOS boot screen:whiste:
Let BioStar tell you to jump in the lake (which is empty).
They did that to me.

Because it overclocks better, and supplies enough voltage for my RAM to run 2800Mhz.
Also:BIOS is nice, booting is very fast.
There is only 1 Biostar z97 board

Got A Biostar TZ77A board from Microcenter years ago for a build for my cousin. Got the board and a 2500K in a bundle. ended up paying $60.00 for it. Great stable board. Clocked the 2500K up to 4 GHZ with just a multiplier, voltage and LLC bump on the first try and it has been running rock stable ever since. Would definitly buy Biostar again.
