Biostar Motherboards??

Ok...I'm being asked by one of the Doctors where I work to build him a "cheap" celeron system. I've been looking around and the cheapest motherboard I can find that looks decent is a Biostar M6TWG. Anyone ever had any expereince with Biostar motherboards at all? If so what is your opinion? All he will be using it for is some word processing and Internet. Personally I think he's a cheapskate and hope to heck that I never have him working on me if his medical philosophy is anything like the attitude he has displayed towards getting a PC. If it were my system there would be either an ASUS or ABIT board going in it....oh well....can't have both cheap and good I guess.

I have built about 12 systems with Biostar boards, and they are still presently working fine now. These are all pre-super socket 7 boards (TX era), and I have not had any problems yet. The one I still have at home is usually on all day and there has never been an issue a stability with it.
I know that my experiece with these boards is somewhat aged, but i hope this helps.

I believe it was Johnny Guru who recommends an athlon biostar board. They are probably good boards.

I have used a number of Biostar boards over the years and found them to be very reliable.

I just built a 1GHz T-Bird system based on the Biostar M7VKB MB ... it runs completely stable 24/7 and seems very fast.

However, Biostar boards are not real good for overclocking ... but they do seem to be very reliable.

I had a Super Socket Seven Biostar motherboard. It wasn't unduly stable at 100 MHz FSB with my K6-2 300, but it was perfectly happy with a 66 MHz Cyrix PR 300. What do you want for $50? There was probably a reason that the vendor was selling that particular board so cheaply. My mom (or more accurately, my sister) uses the board these days, and seems happy with it.
