BIOSTAR TForce6100-939 has NIC problems.

I have recently purchased several of these boards from Newegg and the onboard network adapter does not work properly on any of them. The boards that do not work are version 1.1 and they only started shipping these recently. Prior to this I was getting version 1.0 of the board and they have all worked fine (so far). The last several reviews on Newegg's site have specifically mentioned problems with the onboard network adapter. If anyone has a software solution to this problem, I would appreciate hearing what it is.

Just got this same board the other day from NewEgg and having the same issues ver. 1.1 A03. My max DL speed is about 30K and upload is around 70K. What the hell is going on??

i have this board. there are some that have bad nic's that have problems like you are having. some have fixed this with the latest drivers from nvidia's site. if you are using the drivers on the cd that came with the board then there's your problem. if that doesn't fix it then you have a bad nic.

I have tried the drivers from Nvidia's site. The only possible difference I see is that instead of losing my network connection completely, I can now maintain a connection but it is extremely slow. I have put a Realtek PCI network adapter into one of the PCs so that I can switch back and forth between it and the onboard adapter. The PCI adapter is literally 10 times faster. I curently have four of these boards (version 1.1) in PCs and not one of them has a properly working onboard NIC. I think the people posting that they have gotten the NIC to work with drivers from Nvidia's website are probably using version 1.0 of the board which, as I have said, works fine.

After uninstalling the CD driver Ive tried the newest drivers from Nvidia site with no luck. Looks like an RMA... Im going to try an MSI with the 6150.

Still more reviews are showing up on Newegg reporting this problem. I have to believe that this problem affects every one of these motherboards. How in the world does Biostar allow this blatant of a problem to pass QA testing? I wonder how many of these boards they made? If they were to fix the problem with a new version, how are they going to let people know - it's not like Newgg lists the version numbers of the motherboards. Biostar screwed up bigtime with this one.

This motherboard just disappeared from Newegg's website. I wonder if they pulled it because of the problems with the onboard NICs? I'm guessing that is the reason. I posted two or three negative reviews on their website and also sent an e-mail to their purchasing department explaining how this problem appears to affect all of the boards. They probably got so many RMA's that they decided it wasn't worth it to sell it. I will try to contact Newegg to verify the reason. Other than the bad NICs, this is an excellent board. I hope they can come out with a new version that fixes the problem. Problem is, how are they going to let people like me know that the problem is fixed?

Bought this board as a combo deal with the 3700+. At first NewEgg said they needed both items back if I were to return motherboard but explained they pulled the item off the website with others having the same issues and they gave me full refund on the board (no restock fee) w/o sending the processor back. SWEET.. saved $10 off normal processor price.

The version that does not work:

(CRU51M9T-A03 VER: 1.1)

Please post back here what version you have.

I have confirmed with Biostar tech support that there is a problem. Newegg sent me a nice little email pretty much confirming this and has given me a small credit for my troubles.

Use english version of Nvidia drivers. International version does not work.

English version of drivers did not work on any of the boards. What version of the board do you have?

Have you tried the latest BIOS update dated 1/27/06 which came out recently? BIOSTAR-USA has it but the Taiwan (hdqtrs) doesn't for some strange reason.

I've got six of these things. Tried every combo of driver/bios/blessing/incantation/sacrifice possible, including the latest Bios. Bad boards, periord.

Of the six I ordered (fr. NewEgg), four had consecutive serial numbers. Two others were WAY off that sequence--still don't work. I've seen some bad boards get through, but not an entire production run! These things were made in China; some poor schmuck's going to get killed for this!
