Biostar TP67B+B3 Intel P67 Motherboard

I ordered this mobo for $50 after rebate for a new i5 2500k build. I tried looking online but couldn't find any reviews. Should I be worried? On newegg there were several reviews saying how it never worked or they had major issues.

Any experience here on the forums with this board?

Not a bad board. You should get 4.4 or 4.5ghz out of it. Its similar to the TZ68A+ except for onboard video and SSD Caching. Make sure to update the newest bios for the best stability. Earlier revisions were unstable with this board.

Oh and don't listen to newegg reviews.

Also how much can I rely on the onboard sound? I have been using a razer ac-1 sound card until now, will there be a huge drop if I don't use a sound card?

Onboard sound on the newer boards are not bad at all. Thats what I use now and it works and sounds great on my music and games.

I wouldn't worry about the board being a cheapo. If you ordered it, put it together, and it all runs good, whats to complain? I like Biostar products personally and it shouldn't be any less quality than the TZ68a+ that I had. You should be able to see my Biostar thread since its just been bumped recently.

I have one. No major issues. Have not overclocked yet. Totally stable at stock, 1600mhz memory, not updated bios.

May have one minor issue (with audio through front panel), but I won't be sure whether it is the motherboard or the case until next week when I put the system in a new case.

Is it the intermittent audio jack notification message? If so, mine had that problem too. Just disable the notification check box in the sound control panel.

I have that board. Got it back in June or July. It has ran fine. I have not overclocked my 2500K yet though. The onboard sound worked fine for me, but I did put my Audigy 2 back in after a few weeks because I needed the firewire port on it. I couldn't find any reviews either, but the TZ68A+ did really well over at Toms Hardware.

And for the price it is a great. I think I paid $50 for the board, $150 for the 2500K and $35 for 8gigs of ram back mid summer. So for just shy of $250 I went from an X2@2.6ghz to a 2500K. Sounded to good to pass up. Price still seems good now even after six months.
