Birds dying in my yard

When I walked out to my car this morning to go to work, I noticed these two birds huddled together under one of my trees:

They looked pretty immobile, didn't look healthy, and didn't even seem to notice me, even though I got pretty close to them to take this picture. Now, 12 hours later, they are still in the same exact spot (except the one on the left has done a 180). They look even worse then before. I touched one and there was no response, but they are breathing. Is there anything I can do to help them out? It seriously breaks my heart that the two of them are there suffering together.

I have no idea. They certainly aren't newborns. I was thinking they may have a disease or something.

yeah, they look big but they also appear to be pretty downy, so hard to say. unless the pic just isn't very good and makes them look fuzzy.

Comically enough, it was my final slide last year for a transportation and utilities security analysis presentation. I had a big ol' picture of our mother star, and very briefly discussed the potential economical cost if something like the 1859 solar storm hit the developed world now.

Take 'em inside overnight in a warm room and gib 'em water and a cardboard box with an old towel inside. I've done this countless times for wild birds, chickens, kittens, cats. Most of the time they pull through, I like having a little guest in the house overnight and its nice to see them in the morning healthy.
